The J.B. Nimitz Home Extension
Club met at the home of Mrs. John
Wilcox for their Christmas lunch
and meeting.
The meeting was called to order
by President, Vs. Vaughn. Opening
prayer by Mrs. Benny Ellison. Seco
retary report by Wilma Meadows in
absent of Mary Neely. Treasurer
report was given by Erma Meadows
in absent of Lou Pack.
The Club voted to give the J.B.
Nimitz Fire Dept.and the Senior
s Citizens a $100.00 each.
The door prize was won by Jeanie
Ellison. The next meeting will be at
Mary Neely's Jan. 8th.
The meeting closed with prayer
by Mary Neely and group singing of
Christmas songs.
There were three new members
welcomed into the club: Betty Bowl-

Summers County Volunteer Fire
Dept. was called out by one of it's
own members on Dec. 13th., 1/4 mile
above armory where Harry Miller
had dumped a bucket of ashes out of
his store. He said he took out the day
before and caught bank beside road
on fire. Brush truck and tanker and
six members responded.
Dec. 14th. Fri. morning- mix up of
calling fire dept. out. Report of build-
ing on fire at Little Wolf Creek.
Jumping Branch Fire Dept. was
called out which they responded, but
was in Graenbrier Rural Talcott Fire
Dept. Area, which was caused by
Larry Starks dumping ashes out of
his stove and leaving too close to his
workshop which was completed
destroyed and could have been worse
if the woods had caught.
So make sure people give correct
directions to dispatcher whether
Taicott Dispatch at Pence Springs
Hotel at 445-2606 or Pipeetem Dis-
trict at Pipestem Park 466-1800 .

on the scene at 4:06 P.M. on Dec. 13
at Princeton Community Hospital.
He weighed 71bs. 14 ozs. and came
home Dec. 14, where he has settled
in comfortably and has proceeded to
oversee all household operations.
The proud parents are Earl and
Denise Stracener who also have 2
more children, Cameron and Sonny
Stracener.
