Princeton is always a tough team to handle and the Cats will have to have their game face on if they are to defend. Pocahontas is fresh off a thrashing of Richwood by a score of 80 to 35. They are hungry to get in the finals as well. Games begin on Friday Afternoon. Yesterday morning our Lady Cats had an early morning game at the Charleston Civic Center against an eastern panhandle team from Berkley Springs. The latter is always a tough team and is olden in the hunt for state championships. It will be another test for our girls. At press time I still didn't have the score. "" TALENT SHOW !rhe junior class of Summers Cmty High School will sponsor the fivt Summers County Talent Show onMon., Dec. 22 at 7 p.m. in the S..H.S. auditorium. Admission is $300. Junior Jill,an Duncan will hot the Showcase. uditions were held Tues., Nov. lin the auditorium. "Auditions toik place to make sure nothing deClaRatory is performed, said junior' sp}nsor Tom Hutch, son. JC.H.S. students were enfflraged to enter to show offtheir ceative expressions" said HtLJhison. "The students that sid up had talents in music and dancing. Phe purpose of the Talent SloAycase is to help the Prom Conmittee raise money for the scllool year's Junior/Senior Prom. prom committee members are Niole Belling, Jill,an Duncan, Julia Dtnm , Rebecca Eerenberg, Sarah Foter, Kassi Hedrick, Jess,ca Mills, Joanna Mills, Colleen Pettrey, and Ib4d Willey. Our Team looks to have some good depth this year• We return Senior Kelly Reed into the Post and junior Jess,ca Williams looks to see a lot of action at #2 guard. Truthfully we have a bench that is deep with junior Jess,ca Mills and the crew of sophomores Sierra Brown, Sara Gunnoe and Sarah Blevins as well as freshman Jenni Wynes, Kasie Lilly and Tazdie Wilcox who round out the team. All these girls saw action in the opener. It appears to me that Coach Ryan has both a big team and a speed team that he can put on the floor as the situation calls for. The team will maintain a high intensity no matter who comes off the bench. If these girls work hard the rest of the season and give the coaches and each other solid support our Lady Bobcats will do us proud again • thi#' year. If the fans step up and, ! turlt out for the games to boost thei' along as well, they look to be a factor in Charleston in March my Crystal Ball tells me.
