Paula Scott The Hinton High School Key Club is proud to announce the 1990 Snow Queen and her Court. Paula Scott was selected to serve as Snow Queen. Serving as Snow Princesses are Stell a Kay Harvey - Talcott Jr. Hi gh; Jaime Redes- Hinton Jr. High; Robin Williams - Sandstone Jr. High and Janette Yopp - Hinton Jr. High. St~oW Queen Paula Scott is the daughter of Jack & Donna Scott of Hinton. She has one sister, Kim Crane, and one brother, Jackie Scott. A senior at Hinton High School, Paula is a member of Tri-Hi-Y and FBLA. She served as Miss Bobcat's attendant, and attends St. Patrick Catholic Church. and First Baptist Church. Jaime is currently Freshman Class President, 8th Grade Attendant to Hinton Babe Ruth Queen, and 9th Grade Atten- dant to Homecoming Queen. Hinton Jr. High Snow Princess Jannette Yopp Sandstone Jr. High Janette Yopp is the second Snow Princess from Hinton Jr. High. She Snow Princess is the daughter of Gary and Diane Adkins of Hinton. A joint effort by two area Vet Centers to reach out to Vietnam Veterans in Summers County will begin Friday, the Princeton Vet Center announced today. Staff members from the Prince- ton and Beckley Vet Centers, as part of their outreach programs, will be at the Memorial Building in Hinton from noon to 4:30 pm Friday, Dec. 14. They will meet with any Vietnam Veterans who would like to have information about the services of- fered at Vet Centers, or who may Talcott Jr. High have questions about Agent Orange Snow Princess compen==on and veteran benefits. All veterans who served on active duty between Aug. 5, 1964 and May 7, 1975 are eligible for Vet Center services. Family members and sig- nificant other are also eligible to receive readjustment counseling services when these are related to resolution of the veteran's readjust- ment difficulties. All services are free to eligible veterans and their families. Services provided include: 1) Individual readjustment coun. seling, 2) group readjustment counsel. ing, 3) marital/family counseling, 4) alcohol/drug counseling, 5) spouse/significant other group, 6) benefits assistance and refer- ral, 7) job referral, 8) employment counseling & guidance, 9) commu~nity education, 10) liaison with VA facilities, 11) referral to community agen- cies, Talcott Jr. High Snow Princess is Stella Harvey, daughter of Jack and Sharon Harvey of Hilldale. Stella is a 9th Grader at Talcott where she serves as Student Body President, Homecoming Queen 1990, and Miss Pirate 1990. She is a member of the Honor Club, Student Council, Yearbook Staff, Cheer- leader, Band, Softball, and Basket- ball. Hinton Jr. High Snow Princess Jaime Rodes Jaime Redes, is one of two Snow Princesses from Hinton Jr. High. Jaime is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richie Redes. She is the grand- daughter of Mrs. Jane Meadows and te~, ~'~ .me.i'iy, and two brothers, Joe Michael and Matthew. Jaime is a member of Cats Club, Bible Club, 4-H Club, SADD, JCL, Hold Christmas Dinner The faculty and staff of Hinton High School enjoyed a delicious covered dish Christmas dinner held at the school cafeteria, Tues. Downtown Hinton's annual Christmas Parade, sponsored by Main Street Hinton, was by far one of the finest Christmas parades this city has ever seen. The parade, held Saturday at 2 pm, featured several attractive floats and four marching bands.
