For Small Businesses
You don't have to be a
large company to save a
little money on your phone
bills--if you own your own
phones.
Even if you have as few as
four telephones, a new "in-
telligent" telephone system
can help you cut costs.
The right phone can help
small business get bigger.
For one thing, owning
your own phones can help
you reduce your taxes.
Private phone systems may
be purchased over a time,
and the interest on the
purchase agreement is tax
deductible. What's more,
business can' write off de-
preciation on their own
phone systems for a period
of time.
For another, efficient in-
formation flow can help cut
costs for a growing business.
Executone, a leader in. tele-
communications systems,
has just introduced the first
computerized phone system
exclusively for smaller or-
ganizations. Every phone in
the "Equity" system has its
own built-in microcomputer
with electronic memory,
allowing the system to de-
liver features and benefits
once available only to users
of much larger telephone
systems. The system is easy
to install, service and ex-
pand, major considerations
for a growing business.

Practical Tips for BeauW and Economy
How can you conceal an
ugly architectural flaw in
your kitchen without costly
remodeling? Wallcoverings
can be an inexpensive way
to lighten and brighten dark
rooms, and conceal difficult
shapes.
How do you decorate a
long and narrow bathroom
without costly remodeling?
Today's interior designers
suggest putting a definite
wallcovering pattern on the
shorter walls and a plain
texture on the long side.
When you go out shop-
ping, you might like to take
a look at "The Preferred
Look" collection of vinyl
wallcoverings in the Panta
Astor sample book. There,
color is the key.
For the kitchen, the Panta
Astor experts advise:
• Think in terms of
bright, cheerful, "happy"
colors. Your kitchen is usu-
ally the first area you see in
the morning, and the spot
where you spend a greater
part of your evening.
• Since almond is the
most popular new appliance
color, consider a pattern
like "Spic e & Nice," whose
array of spices in their na-
tural state blends nicely
With almond. Coordinate
mtterns and harmonizing
fabrics are also available.
• Whether you're a home-
maker or working woman or
both, your kitchen should
make a definite, positive
statement .about you and
the way you live.
For the bath, experts sug-
gest :.
• You can get away with
almost anything in a small
space, so discard all the
rules here.
• For added drama, try a
brushed metallic wallcover-
ing like "Waves of Flowers"
from Pants Astor's "Soft &
Bold" collection. It comes
in a variety of color waves
with splashes of flowers
for interest.
• To puilthe entire room
together and protgct against
humidity, cover the ceiling
with wallcovering.
Follow these tips and you
can help yourself to a hap-
pier home at a reasonable
cost.

"Well, aren't ?lou
gonna introduce me to
our girl.. .or is it
your Mrs.?'" she bellowed.
Mrs. Tearoom.
'hen I finally got up enough nerve to ask Donna
to lunch, she just smiled and said, "Can we lay
that new place on the comer?" I was so happy I
didn't care where I ate as long as it was with her.
Well, it turned out to be a little spot called
Mrs. T's Tearoom. Inside we were greeted by a woman
as large and jolly as any Hollywood San 'ta. She
grabbed my shoulder w!th a hand the size of a snow
shovel, andyelled out,' Why, Billy Haljun, I see you
finally got yourselfa gid."
It was Mrs. Teaford. The same Mrs. TeMbrd that
ran the rooming house I lived in during college.
And now, apparently, the Mrs.T of Mrs. T's Tear0onL
Whatluck. My first date with Donna, refined,
feminine Donna, and Imn into this giant pixie who just
loves to describe in great detail every embarrassing
moment of your life.
"You own this place? You're Mrs. T?" I
stammered. "You bet. Now aren't ou gonna introduce
me to your girl...or is it your Mrs..'" she heilowed.
Heads turned. I was so mortified I tblt like nmning.
Finally we were sitting at a table. And she was
sitting with us. Telling Donna stories. I was tense
wondering what shemight say. "I rented your man here
,a, dinky little room," she said. Your man? I bit my, lip.
'Had been a large closet I think," she went on. 'Used
to call it the T-room. Reason was I'd take his rent ew'ry

"I never did understamd why you called nay room
the T-room. 1 figured "cause it was so small," I said as she
laughed and slaplxd me on the back.
"'You were I)aying ti)r this place all the time," she
howled.
Well, dinner was on file house, and Mrs. T invited
us back Saturday night as her guests. I was smprised at
how quickly Donna was to accept.
Turned out l)onna liked the old gal because she
was so unallbcted and honest. Well, if nothing else she
hcllxxt l)onna and me to get to kuow each
