Nov. 18, 2003 Ritz Theatre AL-ANON AI-Anon Hinton Family Group Meetings are held Tuesdays from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Summers County Childrens Advocacy Center, 411 Temple St. (Roar) across from Summers County Middle School. The purpose of AI-Anon is to help families of alcoholics/addicts by welcoming and giving comfort to families or friends of alcoholics/ addicts. More info call 466-3899. CALL FOR EVENTS The Summers County Convention & Visitors Bureau is actively seeking submissions from all area businesses, community and civic organizations, clubs, churches, schools and other organizations for information about upcoming events during the coming year. DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP Summers County Wellness Center Diabetes Support Group will now meet at 12 noon on the 1st. Friday of every month. Note the change of time, and bring your lunch. Help is also available for diabetics with urgent needs who come to the group meetings. 1974 CLASS REUNION The Class of 1974 will have a reunion meeting at Kirk's on November 20 at 6:30. Please bring any addresses of classmates with you. DONATED FOOD Donated Food (Commodities) will be handed out on Monday, November 24th. at Loaves and Fishes beginning at 9 a.m. You will be given a number and asked to wait in the Soup Kitchen until your number is called. Kassi Hedrick Named to Who's Who Kassi Hedrick of Talcott, West Virginia, has been selected by Who's Who Among High School Students for 2003. Only 5% of our nation's high school students are honored each year. Kassi is a junior at Summers County High School where she is President of her class, Treasurer of Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA), and a member of the Spanish Club and Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD). Kassi was also selected as a member of the Summers County High School Chapter of the National Honor Society Of Secondary Schools. Membership is based on scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Kassi is the daughter of Steve and Diana Hedrick and the granddaughter of Joe and Shirley Meadows, Bob and Lorene Cales, and. Preston Hedrick. LIGHTING FUND The Leon Pivont Christmas Lighting Fund is now in progress. Donations are being accepted to help purchase new items for the Christmas lights and new replacement bulbs that are also needed, to light up the downtown area. EXTENSION SERVICE COMMITTEE The Summers County Extension Service Committee will meet on Wednesday, November 19th. at 12:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Dining Hall of the Summers County Memorial Building and is open to the public. From Page Five Obituaries / Survivors include three sons, Raymond Wills and companion, LOla Lilly, Teddy Wills and wife, Shirley and Roger Wills and companion, Kerri Cales, all of Hinton; six daughters, Janice Harmon and husband, John of Peterstown, Virginia Harvey of Hinton, Shirley Bowling and husband, Keith of Hinton, Cassie Chewning and husband, Darrell of Hinton, Angeline Crewey and husband, Ray of Lerona, and Anita Cox and husband, Cecil of Hinton; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great- grandchildren also survive. Service was 2 p.m. Monday, November 17th. at Pivont Funeral Home, Hinton with Pastor Danny Winders officiating. Burial followed in the Wills Family Cemetery on Tug Creek Road. Friends called one hour before the service on Monday, November 17th. at the funeral home. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
