bly in Beck]ey, W.V=, at the Raleigh
County Armory Nov. 10 and 11.
Delegates~om 20congregatior~will
be in attendance. Approximately
1,500 are expected to attend.
The theme for the two-day assem-
bly is, ,Stay Awake and Keep Your
S~mses," based on the Bible text at 1
Thessalonians 5:6. All of the talks,
s) mposiums and demonstrationam
designed around that theme. The
program starts at 9:55 each day.
Sat. morning featurN the opening
discourse, =Stay Awake in Thou
Momentous Times," Another high-
light of the Sat. program is the talk '
on dedication and baptism. Sunday's
discourse at 1:30 p.m. is entitled,
"ActingWiselyin aSensele~Wor]d?
It will be presented by Mr. JoAeph
Wengert, a special representative of
the Watchtower Bible & TPact Soci-
ety. The assembly concludes Sun. at
3:30 p.m. The public is invited and
no collection will be taken.

West Virginia USA Title
Linda Phipps
Miss Linda Phipps, daughter of
Ray and Joyce Phipps of Pipestem,
W.Va., has been selected as an En-
trant in the 1991 Miss W.Va. USA
Pageant, a Carvern Production, to
be held in the Ballroom of the Radis-
son Hotel in Huntington, W.Va., Nov.
9, 10 & 11. The State Pageant will
select West Virginia's representa-
tive to the Miss USA Pageant na-
tionallytelevised on CBS-TV during
Feb.
Miss Phipps has earned the right
to compete with girls from all over
the Mountain State for the Title of
Tara Denise Martin, is the daugh-
ter of Cheryl and Randy Martin of
Kernersville, N.C. She is the grand-
daughter of Glen and Bertie Lively
of Green Sulphur Springs, WV., and
the granddaughter of Buddy and
Martha Martin of Pipestem, WV.
Miss W. Va. USA. She is a graduate
of Hinton High School and is now an
Assistant Manager of McDonalds in
Bluefield.
While in High School Linda par-
ticipated in FHA Functions, Junior
& Senior Follies, and the High School
Band.
Her other activities include rid-
ing and showing horses, dancing,
walking, and excising at Gyms. Al so,
a graduate of Barbizon modeling
school of Charleston.

USA Pageant are Nov. 9, 10 & 11, in

Earth" it was largest selling poetry
