BENNY J. COOPER
Benny Joe Cooper, 35, died Sat.
Nov. 3, at his home.
Born May 23, 1955, at Pipestem,
he was the son of the late Thomas J.
~nd Madeline Whitlock Cooper.
Mr. Cooper was a lifelong resi-
dent of Summers County, was an
employee of the CSX Corporation
and was a member of the Mainte-
nance of Way.
Survivors include a son, Nicholas
Benjamin Cooper of Ohio; three
brothers, Thomas E. Cooper of Suf-
folk, Va., Roy G. Cooper of Marie,
and Kenneth D. Cooper of Princeton
and maternal grandmother, Lottie
Dowdy of Hinton.
Services will be Tues. at 11 a.m.
at the Ronald Meadows Funeral
Chapel in Hinton with the Rev.
Elwood Cales officiating.
The body was at the Ronald
Meadows Funeral Home in Hinton.
ZACHARY TREY SMITH
Zachary Trey Smith, stillborn
infant son of Jerry William and Mary
Shirlene Phillips Smith of Pipestem,
died Wed. Oct. 31, at 7 p.m. in a
Princeton hospital.
Other survivors include his ma-
ternal grandparents, William H.
(Bill) and Mary Jane Gwinn Phillips
of Pipestem; paternal grandparents,
Earl C. and Vertra Short Smith of
Woodrumtown, and matera] great-
grandmother, Rose Smith of Peter.

Services were held Sat. Nov. 3 at
2 p.m. at the Ronald Meadows Fu-
neral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with
the Revs. Robert Wiseman and John
Ramsey officiating. Burial followed
in the Cook Cemetery at Pipestem.
RALPH L. TROUT, SR.
Ralph L. Trout, Sr., 71, of 212
Pleasant Street, died Sat. Nov. 4, at
his home, following a long illness.
Born Mar. 29, 1919, at Alderson,
he was the son of the late James
Allen and Zella Maude Lemons
Trout.
Mr. Trout had lived most of his
life in Hinton, was a retired engi-
neer for the CSX Corporation, retir-
ing with 33 years of service, was a
member of the Brotherhood of Loco-
motive Engineers, and was a vet-
eran of World War If.
He was preceded in death by four
brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include three sons,
James Trout of Charlotte, N.C.,
David Trout and Ralph Trout, Jr.,
both of Hinton; three daughters,
Dorothy Keeny of Charleston, Mary
Trout and Shirley Dillon, both of
Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Daisy Neal
of Alderson; 17 grandchildren and a
great-grandchild.
The Ronald Meadows Funeral
Home in Hinton is in charge of the
arrangements.
FLORENCE (KATE) WISEMAN
Mrs. Florence (Kate) Wiseman,
82, of 715 Temple St., died Wed. Oct.
31, in a Hinton hospital, following a
long illness.
Born Nov. 1, 1907, in Summers
County, she was the daughter of the
late Robert T. and Emma Bucldand
Martin.
Mrs. Wiseman had lived most of
her life in Summers County.
She was preceded in death by her
husband, Elmer L. Bud Wiseman in
1955; a daughter, Joann Wiseman
in 1936 and two brothers, CJ. (Bob)
• and M.B. (Brown) Martin.
Survivors include a son, Lloyd
(Horsey) Wiseman of Lowndesboro,
Ala.; a daughter, Mrs. John (Jane)
Kesler of Lowell; a sister, Annie Allen
of Hinton; four grandsons and one
granddaughter.
Services were held Fri. Nov. 2 at 2
p.m. at the Ronald Meadows Fu-
neral Parlors Chapel in Hinton with
the Rev. Frank Mick officiating.
Burial followed in the Hilltop Ceme-
tery at Hinton.
The body was at the funeral home.
Grandsons and nephews served
as pallbearers.

MEET
Bobcat Boosters met Mon. night
Oct. 29 at the City Sidetrack Park.
The following members were pres-
ent: Howard Cashwell, Henry Noel,
E. L. Cobb, William Weber, Jack
Weaver, Homer Westmoreland,
Buzzy Richmond, David Ballard,
John O'Neal, Kyle Gwinn and Wal-
ter "Stoney" Loomis.
The following were presented life
time memberships in the Booster.
They were: Jack Ball, Jack Weaver,
Buzzy Hellems, Homer Westmore-
land, E.L.Cobb, Conrad =Cotton~
Graham, and Walter =Stoney"
Loomis.
Library volunteer Dobbie Cole draws the winning name from
Friends of the Library President Dorothy Jean Boley's hat box. Mr.
& Mrs. Edgar Webb of Newport News, Va. were the lucky winners
of the $100 bill. And Ole Inchy that faithful worm got to move up his
chart another $497! We thank all those who participated either by
buying or by selling tickets. The Library as well as the Webb's was
a winner as a result of all your wonderful efforts.
