Nov. 4, 2003 COUNCIL ON AGING AGENDA The Summers County Council On Aging, Inc., Board of Directors will have their regular monthly meeting November 10th. 10:00 a.m., at the Senior Citizens Center. This is an open meeting to the public. Agenda: Call to Order, Prayer, Minutes, Financial Report, Director's Report, Old Business, New Business. SHARE PACKAGES Loaves and Fishes will be taking orders Mon., Wed. or Fri. between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for Nov. Share Packages. The cut-of is 12 noon, Nov. 10 and delivery will be Fri. Nov. 21. For info call 266-2110. BOARD MEETING The Southern Conservation District will hold their regular monthly board meeting on November 13. The meeting will be held at the Southern Conservation District Building, 463 Ragland Road, Beckley, WV. The meeting will begin promptly at 9:45 a.m. Normal business will be conducted. GOSPEL SING There will be a gospel sing at Meadow Creek Baptist Church on November 8th. at 5:00 p.m. untill. Refreshments will be served in Fellowship Building. Pastor Eddie Johnson and congregation invites everyone to attend. FREE COAT DISTRIBUTION Winter is coming! We are coordinating a Coat Drive and Free Distribution. If you have a good used coat that you would like to donate, please bring to the Family Resource Network located behind the Courthouse in Union November 5th. or to the Old Greenville School the afternoon of November 6th. Free Coat Distribution November 7th. 9:00 a.m. until Noon at the old Greenville School. Open to everyone. Call 772-5960 for details. FREE THANKSGIVING DINNER The Hinton Church of God will be hosting a Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Saturday, November 22nd. from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Church Fellowship Hall. .If you would like to assist in any way call 466-5570. TECHNOLOGY OPPORTUNITY CENTER COURSES Introductory Basic - This course will be 5, three-hour sessions. This beginner class will introduce you to the computer, the hardware and the operating system. Microsoft Office Word will also be reviewed as well as the Internet. This course will be offered for 2 sessions this year. Basic-- This course will be 10, three-hour sessions. This class will introduce you to Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint. We will also show you how to successfully use the Internet. Introductory Basis serves as a pre- requisite to the course. Individuals with skills similar to that of the Introductory Basic also qualify. Intermediate - This course will be 10, three-hour sessions. This class will build on skills learned in the Basic course. Participants will learn details of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING The Summers County Commission will meet on Wednesday, November 12th., at 9:00 a.m. at the Summers County Courthouse. MUCH! MOREl! Justin Davis Selected to Who's Who Among High School Students for 2003 Justin Davis of Hilldale has been selected by Who's WhO Among High School Students for 2003. This is Justin's third consecutive year for selection in Who's Who. Justin is the son of Jeff and Donna Davis, and the grandson of Lucinda Ayers. He is a senior at Summers County High School where he is treasurer of the Key Club and a member of The Future Business Leaders of America. Justin has been a member of the Summers County High School Baseball team for the past two years. He plans to attend college next year to pursue a career in Business and Marketing.
