RAISE
MONEY
Thirty women from area golf
dubs played in the Rally for A Cure
golf tournament which raised $1200
for breast cancer research at
Willowwood Country Club recently.
Rally for a Cure is a woman's golf
program sponsored by Golf for
Women magazine and Titleiest and
FootJoy Worldwide to raise money
for the Susan G. Komen Foundation
for breast cancer research.
The women competed for prizes
donated by local businesses that
included savings bonds, passes to
area golf courses, and a variety of
gift certificates. Golf for Women
magazine gave each participant a
one year subscription to the
magazine.
The $1200 was raised through
sponsorship of holes on the course
by local businesswomen, entry fees
of participants, and a silent auction
of items donated by local businesses.
Winners were named in four
flights in the August 28 tournament

place, Mary Ann Blakeslee of
Lewisburg; second place, Kay
Thomas Of Summersville; and third
