ASHLEY M. BASHAM
AMANDA L. BASHAM
Ashley Michelle Basham and
Amanda Lee Basham, infant twin
daughters of Gary and Michelle
Morgan Basham of Ballengee, died
in a Beckley hospital. Ashley died at
2:10 p.m. Fri. Sept. 13 and Amanda
died at 2:15 a.m. Sun. Sept. 15,1991.
They were born Sept. 13, 1991, in
Beckley.
Other survivors include paternal
grandparents, Benny and Deloris
Basham of Jumping Branch; mater-
nal grandparents, Bilton and Norma
Morgan of Ballengee; paternal great-
grandmothers, Bertha Alice Basham
and Clarice Cox, both of Jumping
Branch; and maternal great-grand-
mother, Ernestine Fouch of Win-
chester, Oh.
Graveside services and burial will
be 2 p.m. Tues. at the Basham Family
Cemetery at Jumping Branch with
the Rev. Bill Fox officiating.
There will be no visitation.
The Ronald Meadows Funeral
Parlors in Hinton is in charge of the
arrangements.
MRS. MYRTLE N. BRADLEY
Mrs. Myrtle Heel Bradley, 90, of
Peterstown, Monroe County, died
Sept. 10, 1991, in Summers County
Continuous Care Center, Hinton, of
a long illness.
She was a member of Valley
Baptist Church, Zenith.
Surviving: brother, Clyde Heel of
Peterstown;six grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren; one-great-
great-grandchild.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Fri.
Sept. 13 at Broyles-McGuire Funeral
Home, Union, with the Rev. Dallas
Forren officiating. Burial followed
in the Dropping Lick Cemetery, near
Rock Camp.
ONA LAKE HYDEN
Mrs. Ona Lake Hyden, 80, of 601
Temple St., died at 10:25 p.m., Tues.
Sept. 10, 1991, in a Hinton hospital,
following a long illness.
Born Oct. 3, 1910, in Summers
County, she was the daughter of the
late Michael Anderson and Mary
Amanda Cochran Vest.
Mrs. Hyden was a lifelong resi-
dent of Summers County and a
member of the First United Method-
ist Church, Hinton.
She was preceded in death by her
husband, Harry Russell Hyden on
Sept. 17, 1963; and three brothers,
Oral, Otis and Michael Anderson
Vest Jr.
Survivors include a daughter,
Shirley Wheeler of Hinton; four sis-
ters, Dexter Atkinson of Columbus,
Oh., Mrs. Frank (Clara) Arthur of
Jumping Branch, Mrs, Carlos (Cleo)
Lilly and Mrs. Cecil (Anna) Stanley,
both of Coal City; a stepbrother, Cecil
Ward of Coal City; two grandchil-
dren, two great-grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Fri.
Sept. 13 at the Ronald Meadows
Funeral Parlors Chapel, Hinton,
with the Rev. Gerald Dotson officiat-
ing. Burial followed in the Restwood
Memorial Gardens, Hinton.
Pallbearers were Garry Wheeler,
Kevin Wright, Buehl Cochran, Gary
Arthur, Rodney Pack and Clyde Vest.
GED/ABE
Classes
Offered
The Summers County Board of
Education will offer Adult Basic
Education classes, to prepare for the
GED, beginning Oct. 1st.
These evening classes will be of-
fered at four (4) schools where the
largest number of adults enroll.
Classes must maintain a minimum
of ten (10) ABE students in atten-
dance for the classes to continue.
Call your local school principal
and add your name to the student
list.
Attend evening classes and en-
courage your friends to attend the
ABE classes to earn a GED certifi-
cate.
Classes to being Oct. 1st.
Enrolls At
University
David (Brady) Bragg, son of A.B.
Bragg, Jr. and Jewell Bragg Manuri
of Green Sulphur Springs and Ocen-
side, Ca., has enrolled at the west-
era campus of Embry-Riddle Aero-
nautical University in Prescott,
Arizona. Braggis a 1977 graduate of
Hinton High School and will major
in Aeronautical Science.
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Uni-
versity is a private, independent
institution with an enrollment of
approximately 13,000 full and part-
time students on the campuses at
Prescott, Arizona; and Daytona
Beach, Fla. and at 100 College of
Continuing Education locations
throughout the world.
Bluestone Lake Garden
Club Meets
The Bluestone Lake Garden Club
met Man. Sept. 9, at the home of
Mrs. Alvin Willey.
The President, Mrs. RJ. Emrich
opened meeting with the Club Col-
lect said in unison. Minutes read
and approved, and Treasurer's re-
port given. A note from Ameriflora
92 Exposition, Columbus, Oh.,
thanking club for donation.
The President announced the
Greenbrier District meeting will be
held OCt. 19, at Emmanual United
Methodist Church, White Sulphur
Springs, W.Va. Members planning
to attend must register by OCt. 9 fee
eight dollars.
Mrs. Alvin Willey presented New,
Year books to members.
The Program was in charge of
Mrs. B.H. Lester who made a beau-
tiful arrangement of Wild flowers to
be taken to the Summers County
Hospital.
A delicious party plate was served
to the following members and guest.

71st INFANTRY DMSION
REUNION
The "Farthest East" 71st Infan-
try Division, which met with Rus-
sian forces at the Enns River near
Steyr, Austria in 1945, will hold a
Reunion in Columbus, Ga. Sept. 26-
29. Men and mules who served with
the Division at Fort Carson, Hunter
Liggett, Fort Benning, in Europe
