JESSIE M. RICHMOND BERRY Jessie Margaret Richmond Berry, 93, of Brooks passed away Friday, September 9, 2016 at Main Street Care following a long illness. Born January 5, 1923 in Summers County she was the daughter of the late Charles and ,Mary Smith Richmond. She was a homemaker who loved children. Jessie was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Ralph Berry; an infant granddaughter, Jessica; daughter in law, ShirleyAnn Berry 5and numerous brothers and sisters. She is survived by her five children, Charles Berry of Brooks, , Curtis Berry and wife Juanita of Freezeland Mtn., Edith Lilly and husband Kevin of Hilidale, Judy Adkins and husband Seymore of Freezeland Mtn. and Ralph Berry of Irish Mtn.; eight grandchildren, Kathy Berry, whom she raised, LeanneAdln'ns, BrianAdkins, Kevin Adkins, Amy Mutter, Dennis Bragg, Martha Ann Lilly and Margaret Marie Berry; four great grandchildren, Jayden Bragg, Abigail Armstrong, Alex and Kayla Mutter; two great great grandchildren, Tyler and Jesiah Armstrong; three sisters, Anna Berry of Brooks, Ethel Shaw of Bluefield, VA, Edith Smith of TX; two brothers, Jennings Richmond of Brooks and Jim Richmond of Ballengee and several nieces and 'nephews. Funeral services were held at 1:00 RM. Monday, September 12, 2016 at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel. Burial followed in the Berry- Adkins Cemetery on Freezeland Mtn. Friends called from noon until time of services at the funeral parlors on Monday, Septebmber 12. Family and friends served as pallbearers. MCKINNEY BUMGARNER Joy Ann McKinney Bumgamer, 85, of Hix, went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 9, 2016 at 'the Summers County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a short illness. Born March 13, 1931 at Hinton she was a daughter of the late Robert Lee Meadows and Cuba , Ward Lowe. ' Joy was a member of the Ramp Holiness Church. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Summers County. Joy enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Joy was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Donald I McKinney; second husband, Robert Ray Bumgarner; one sister, Julia Mae Ward; one brother, Kenneth Meadows and one grandson, James .McKinney. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Ralph Donald McKinney of Geraldine, AL, Roger .‘ Tammy Wayne McKinneyofI-Iix, Sonya Kay Devine and husband Ron ofChattanooga, TN, Patricia Carol Halsey and husband Jack of Mt. Airy, NC, Lloyd Gene McKinney and wife Aretta of Kernersville, NC, Robert Lee McKinney of Newton, NC, Joyce Elaine Moore and husband Newton of Gainesville, GA and David Ray McKinney and wife of talcott; twelve grandchildren, Angela Ellison, Ethan, Megan, Eli, Jason & Rebecca McKinney, Sean & Scott Devine, Jon Kyle Moore, Deedra Handy and Wendy Moeller; eleven great grandchildren and one brother, Richard Lowe and wife Carol of Kernersville, NC. ' Funeral services were held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, September 12, at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors. Family served as pallbearers. Cox, 71, of Big Creek entered into eternal rest WEdnesday, September 7 at Bowers Hpospice House following a short illness. Born May 5, 1945 at Crumps Bottom he was the son of the late Clarence Duard and Garnett Marie Meador Cox. Osbey was a construction worker and farmer who enjoyed horses, fishing, hunting, gardening, camping, the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends especially “little man”. Proceded in death by one sister, Shelvia Jean, Cox Beheler and tow brothers Junior Cox and Dewey Lee Cox. Those lefl; to cherish his memory include his children, Joyce Adkins of NC, Tammy Bonds and husband Joseph of Hilldale, Debbie Garrett of Hinton, Osbey Zimmerman and wife Sarah of Hedgesville, Amber -Reed and Husband Jay of Alderson, Ashley Cox of Talcott and James Zimmerman and Charle Oxley whom he cared fpor as his own, ten grandchildren, one great grandson, . two brothers, Charles Cox of Hinton and Roy Cox and wife Sue of Hinton, Six sisters, Sylvia Howard of VA, Linda Osborne of Lanark, Joyce Fox and husband Cecil of Hinton, Sadie ' Grimmett and husband Wayne of Hinton, Goldie Ward of Hinton and Sandra “Sam” Lane and husband Frank of Hinton. A gathering of family and friends was held Sunday, September 11 from 5-7 p.m. at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel. There will be a private family burial at a later date. Born October 5, 1938 at Pence Springs, WV she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mildred Eggleston Fox. Ailene was a homemaker and member of Fairview Baptist Church at Forest Hill. She was an active at the church, as well as the ' member in the Mary Martha Circle Ballengee Farm Club, the Red Hat' Society and the Marie Friendship Club. Ailene enjoyed doing for others and loved people as they loved her. She and her husband had retired back to Summers County in 1999. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Chester “Chet” and George H. Jr. Edwards and also by a brother, Richard Fox. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, George H. “Sonny Edwards; one sister, Deborah Owens of Marie; five grandchildren, Nathan, Charles, Zachary and Raleigh Edwards and Rebecca Sumner; four great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Brody, Audrey and Brianna; two daughters-in-law, Ida Edwards of Beckley and Anita Edwards of Hagerstown, MD. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday,September 10, 2016 at Fairview Baptist Church at Forest Hill with Pastor Mike McCoy officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Church Cemetery. LLOYD ELDRIDGE GORE Lloyd Elderidge “Chuck” Gore J r., 60, of Hungards Creek passed away Friday September 2, 2016 at his home peacefully surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with his health. Born June 5, 1956 at Summers County he was a son of the late Lloyd E. Sr. and Betty Lou Smith Gore. Lloyd was of the Christian faith. . He was a member of the Greenbrier Valley Rural Fire Department having served 20 plus years and a former coal miner. Lloyd was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Joe‘ Smith.
