Sept. 4, 2018 Hinton News - 5 IC ancer ivln O0 The descendants of the Austin Ballard Harvey and his wife Mary Ann (Ellison) Harvey, met at the Summers County 4-H Camp on Saturday, June 16, 2018, for their annual reunion. After socializing and some preliminary remarks, the reunion was opened with prayer by Echols CaleB. The group then sangAmerica and The Star Spangled Banner, which were followed by the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Next, all of Austin and Mary Ann's children were named and several of the attendees present could remember one or more of them. Glenna (Harvey) Saunders (age 98), is now the oldest living descendent of Austin and Mary Ann The oldest man in attendance was Wyatt Hinton, age 99. Myrtle Harvey, age 92, was the oldest woman present. Kacie Webb, age 7, and twins, who had passed away since last year. Among those who had passed was Raymond Harvey who was the oldest male descendant present last year. A moment of silence was observed in the memory of those who had passed in the last year. Greetings were received from Mary Caldwell (who is residing in New York state) and is physically unable to attend the reunions. Recognition of those present who were 80 years old or older included: Wyatt Hinton, Myrtle Harvey, Mary Harvey, Faye Miller, Doug Harvey and Gall O'Day.
