BOBCAT FOOTBALL
The Hinton Bobcats were defeated
14-0 by the Independence Partriots
last Firday. Hinton's record is now
0-2 for the season and next Friday at
7:30 pm at the Summers County
Athletic Field they will play Poco-
hontas County, who were defeated
by West Preston 36-14.
The Bobcats have yet to score in
the eight quarters of play. With
ninety yards of penalties in the first
half against Independence all scor-
ing opportunities were stopped.
Running back Rich Lytle was taken
from the game with a knee injury
early in the first half. Lytle carried
the ball only four times with eight-
een yards rushing. Steven Brown,
the Bobcat quarterback, made sev-
eral good runs and also several good
passes completions, but again Bob-
cat penalties would stop the drive.
" -During the game the Bobcats lost
four fumbles and one interception to
the Patriots. Bobby Fox, a starter
for the Bobcats suffered a bruised
,~ _neck and was transfered to the hos-
pital by ambulance. The outlook for
both Fox and Lytle to play in next
Friday nights game against Poco-
hontas County is doubtful.
Leading tacklers for the Bobcats
were Matt Lilly with 11 and Matt
Rocles with 10 tackles, leading rusher
was Eric Prazier. Ron Pack and
Matt Lilly both recovered an Inde-
pendence fumble.
The Varsity Cheerleaders will be
sponsoring a pep rally for the Poco.
