Services were held Monday
August 27 at 2 p.m. at the
Cook's Chapel Church at Pipe-
stem with the Ray. Johnny
Atkinson officiating. Burial
followed in the Honchins Cem-
etery at Pipestem.
The body was at the Ron-
ald Meadows Funeral Parlors
in Hinton and at the church one
hour prior to services.
Any donations of sympathy
should be made to the Pipestem
Christian School.

WISEMAN
Mrs. Goldie Marie Wiseman,
57, died Saturday August 25 in a
Princeton hospital after a long
illness.
Born June 21, 1927, in Sum-
me~ County, she was a dau-
ght .," of the late Bill and Edna
Dick .Rakes.
Mrs)Wiseman was a lifelong
resident 0~ Summers County
and a member of the First
Baptist Church in Hinton.
Survivors include her hus-
band, Ashby Wiseman; a son,
Charles Wiseman of Buck; four
daughters, Alice Lilly of Pipe-
stem; Norma Gunter, Debbie
and Sherry Wiseman, all of
Hinton; two brothers, Bobby
Rakes of Buck and Tommy
Rakes of Hinton; four sisters,
Mildred Burns and Ruth Bl-
ancher, beth of California; Vir-
ginia Childers of Kentucky,a nd
Mary Jane Worley of Beekley
and eight grandchildren.
Services were held Monday
August 27 at 2 p.m. at the
Ronald Meadows Funeral Par-
lore in Hinton with the Rev.
Lance Yost officiating. Burial
followed in the Wiseman Cem-
etery on Zion Mountain.

Mrs. Regina Pearl Garten,
92, of Stanaford, died Tuesday
August 21 at 1:20 p.m. in a
Beckley hospital after a short
illness.
She is survived by 149 rel-
atives.
Born March 18, 1892, at Pence
Springs, she was a daughter of
the late Rufus G. and Mar-
garet Persinger Lilly.
Mrs. Garten was a house-
wife and a member of Piney
View Bible Church.
She was preceded in death by
her husband, Roy Lee Garten in
1965; a son, Rndney Garten and
thr .e¢ grandchildren, Roy Eug-
end"~ Garten, Karen Gurack

Herbert E. and Ronald Gar-
ten, beth of Piney View and

ay of Richmond, Va., Mae Jean
Hart of Bradley, Mary Alice
McCoy of Friendswood, Texas,
Dana Joan Hayes of Newport
News, Va., and Kitty Sue Gill of
Martinez, Ga.; 40 grandchild-
ren; 79 great - grandchildren
and 19 great - great - grand-
children.
Services were held Friday
August 24 at I p.m. at the Piney
View Bible Church with the
Revs. Cecil Smith, Philiip Lilly,
Carl Johnson and L. A. Garten
officiating. Burial followed in
the Blue Ridge Memorial Gar-
dens in Prosperity.
The body was at the Blue
Ridge Funeral Home in Pro~
sperity and at the ch.,,~k'Pobe
hour prior to serviet~.

Dean Garten, Denny Raardon,
Harry Ray Miller, Teddy and

Miss Virginia K. Wilfong, 66,
formerly of Seweil, died Thurs-
day August 23 at home.
Born Aug:. 25, 1917, she was a
daughter of the late Lore. aad
Cassell Wilfung. .
Wilfong had lived in
BaiUmore for leverll years.

Gwendolyn Patton of Hinton; a
