Darrell Harem Homecoming At Low Gap Homecoming Services will be held at Low Gap Methodist Church on the second Sun. in Aug., Aug. llth. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Darrell Harem, pastor of the Brooks Baptist Church at Brooks, W.Va. Rev. Harem has conducted a Radio Ministry in this area for the past 11 years. His program is called =Cru- sade for Christ" and it airs at 8:05 a.m. each Sun. Rev. Harem has pastored churches in the counties of Monroe, Summers and Ralsigh. He was for- merly a pastor of Little Wolf Creek Baptist Church at Buck and has preached at Low Gap. Please join us for this Homecom- ing Service. Everyone is welcome. Servicemen In The News Marine Pfc. Brian E. Lane, son of Charles D. and Mary E. Lane of Hinton, WV., has completed the Small Arms Repair Course. During the eight-week course, at the U.S.Marine Ordnance Center and School, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., Lane received instruc- tion on the operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of rifles, pistols, shotguns, submachine guns, grenade launchers, mortars and other automatic weapons. He also studied the preparation of weapons for shipment and storage, and re- lated safety precautions. The 1990 graduate of Hinton High School joined the Marine Corps in Oct. 1990. She wore a two piece dress in cranberry with a floor length straight skirt and matching jacket, accented by a V neckline, gathered waist and lace overlay. She wore a dress similar to the bride's mother's: a two piece dress with a floor length straight skirt and matching jacket in teal. Her jacket featured a V neckline and V back with a lace overlay. The bride entered the church to "The Bridal Chorus" escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore a full length gown of white satin fea- turing a portrait neckline. The Basque bodice, both front and back, was adorned with hang tear-drop pearls, beaded pearls and opales- cent sequins on alencon lace. A but- ton down back led to an elegant bow encasing the hipline. Lace motif encircled the hem of the full skirt. The cathedral train was highlighed by alencon lace cut out appliques, hand beaded with pearls and se- quins. The bridal headpiece was a pearl, crystal and sequin beaded tiara with a pearled poufand soR draped shoul- der veil. ing vest and bow tie. His bouton- niere consisted era white rose with stephanotis. Paul Wykls, Jr., brethsr of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were J.W. Peters of Huntington, Dave Bannister of Winfield, Timmy Bugg of Raleigh, N.C., Bill McLean of Hinton, and Steve Comer of Hinton. Their attire was identical to ths groom's, with matching bow ties and cummerbund. Their boutonnisre were white roses with purple satice. Ringbearer was Tyler McMillen, cousin of the bride, of Grafton, Va. Hs wore a black tuxedo with match- ing bow tie and cummerbund. He carried a white lace pillow dscorated with violets. Ths wedding was directed by Miss Dorothy Jean Boley and Mrs. Nadine Vase of Hinton. The guest book was attended by Miss Kim Redes of Charleston. Programs were distributed by Miss Kristi Clark and Miss Jamie Redes of Hinton. A Buffet style reception followed at The Historic Pence Springs Hotel. The wedding cake was made by Mrs. Mary Newsome of Jumping Branch, who served it along with her mother, Mrs. Erma Meadows. It consisted of 5 tiers, which were beaded wtih pearls and decorated with silk vio- lsts and pearls. Hinton High School and a lab 8 gradua.te of the West Virginia I ni- versity School of Pharmacy. She is employed as a pharmacist with Rite-Aid in Hinton. The groom is a 1985 graduate of Hinton High School and attended Marshall University. He is employed by The Twin State Corp. in Hinton. The couple is residing in Jumping Branch.
