She is recuperating at her home, Thank You All The Zimmerman Family J I I I II WHAT WE BELIEVE at Riverview Chapel SOME POINTS TO PONDER: THE SALVATION THAT GOD GIVES IS NOT OF WORKS: Perhaps one of the clearest Scriptures on this point is found in Titus 3:5: "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us." Also, we ere told in Isa. 64:6: "That all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags." The religious leaders of Jesus day were so proud of their good works that Jesus warned in Mat. 5:20: "For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter the kingdom of heaven." HOW CAN OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS EXCEED THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF THE SCRIBES AND PHARISEES? The Apostle Paul gives us the clear answer In Rein. 4:5: "But to him that worketh not, but belleveth on Him that justifleth the ungodly, his faith Is counted for righteousness." Paul declares the righteousness of Abraham in Rein. 4:2: "Abraham believed God, and It was counted unto him for righteousness." For many believers Eph. 2:8,9. ere • favorite: "For by grace ye ere saved through faith; end that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
