Anthony "Andy" Paul Adkins
March 21, 1979 June 20, 2016
{- Anthony “Andy” Paul Adkins, 37,
of Pipestem went home to be with
the Lord, June 20, 2016. Born March
2-1, 1979 at Hinton Hospital he was
the son of Dora Leigh Adkins Faris
of Pipestem and Dale Allen Bryant
of Hinton. '
Andy loved spending time with
his boys playing basketball, fishing,
. hunting, and whatever else the boys
Wanted to do. He loved every second
. of being their daddy. Andy excelled
in high school basketball at
Pipestem Christian Academy
helping win back to back state titles.
He also loved his cars and riding
motorcycles. Andy loved the Lord
and would do anything to help
anyone at anytime. God never gave
anyone a better heart or kinder soul
then what was inside of Andy. He
loved his Momma, his kids, his Paw
Paw, and brothers and sisters
unconditionally. He loved his family
and friends, worked hard, and will
be deeply missed by everyone.
Preceded in death by his
biological father Dale Allen Bryant
of Hinton; his grandmothers Agnes
Anita Adkins of Pipestem and Edna
Elizabeth Faris of Bozoo and a sister
Salena Ann McBride of Pipestem.

Danny Paul “D.P.” Adkins, 53, of
Pipestem went home to be with the‘
Lord Saturday, July 9, 2016 at
CAMC General Division following a
long illness surrounded by his loving
family.
Born December 21, 1962 at
Hinton he was the son of Daniel Paul
Adkins of True and the late Agnes
Anita Palmer Adkins. Danny
attended Cooks Chapel Baptist
Church, he was the former Head
Chef at Pipestem State Park and he
enjbyed hunting, fishing, being in
the' outdoors and spending time with
his family and friends.
Preceded in death by two sisters,
Patricia and Kathryn Adkins and
one: brother, Daniel Adkins.
Those left to cherish his memory,
include two daughters, Leslie
Adkins of Hinton and Danni Jo ,
“DJ.” Adkins and companion Mike
Grimmett of Woodrumtown; one son,
Cole Williams and companion
Melinda Williams of Princeton;
three grandchildren, Dakota Adkins,

Lydia Imogene Bennett, 91, of 301
Cedar Avenue, Hinton, WV, passed
away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at.
Summers County Appalachian
Regional Hospital following a short
illness.
Born in Hinton, on January 18,
1926, she was the daughter of the
late Carl and Annie Mann Meadows.
She was a homemaker and did
ironing for many people in the area.
Preceded in death by her husband
Ralph Bennett, one son Basil Willey
Jr., three sisters Lahoma Kessler,
Margaret Spade, and Jane Wimmer,
and Two Brothers, Everette and
Billy Carl Meadows.
Surviving are one son Bobby
Willey and wife Teresa of Hinton,
WV, one step son Randy Bennett and
wife Edie of Hinton, WV, one step
daughter Tammy Hunter and
husband William of Charlotte, NC,
one brother James Elwood Meadows
of Beckley, WV, five Grandchildren,
Bobbi Jean Cole, Chase Alan Willey,
Lydia Beth Petrea, Hope Pearl
Hunter, and Holly Grace Hunter,
two Great Grandchildren, Drake
Alan Cole and Kaylee Alyssa Cole.
Graveside services were held at
at 11:00 am. Friday, July, 15, 2016
at Greenbrier Burial Park with
Pastor Butch Honaker officiating.
There was no visitation. Anyone
attending the service was asked to
meet at the cemetery.

ROBERT LANE
Robert Douglas “Dink” Lane, 53
of Talcott went home to be with the
Lord early in the morning on
Monday, July 11, 2016. He was a
loving husband, father, grandfather, I
son and uncle.
Born September 12, 1962 in
Hinton, he was the son of Judy Crafl
Presley, Carol Presley and Sammy
Lane. Robert was preceded in death
by his maternal grandparents,
Douglas and Opal Craft, father-in-
law, Kenneth Friend, step father-in-
law, Rick Wilkinson and aunt Lucy
Plumley.
Those left to cherish his memory
include his loving wife of 35 years,
Regina Friend Lane; His two
children, Robert Lane, 11 and wife
Haley of Hinton and Ashley Lane
and companion James Fleshman of
Wayside; His mother and step-
father, Judy and Carol Presley of
Talcott; father Sammy Lane;
Mother-in-law, Delorce Wilkinson;
He leaves behind his beloved
grandchildren, Evan Lane,
Benjamin Lane, Kenna Lane, Logan
Lane, Olivia Lane, Aubrey Lane,
Isiah Farmer and Addison Sampson;
three brothers, Gregory Lane, Frank
Lane and Jeff Lane; grandmother,
Pauline Lane; aunts, Bonnie Hinton,
Rhodetta Hinton and Alice Lane &
husband Jerry and Caroline Jones;
he also leaves behind many cousins,
nieces, nephews and friends he loved
dearly.
Robert was a 1980 graduate of
Talcott High School where he
excelled in sports. He was employed
with Right of Way Clearing and
Maintenance for 20 years and was
known for his tree work. Robert was
an avid outdoorsman who loved
hunting and fishing and passed that
love and talent on to his children and
grandchildren. He loved to watch his
children and grandchildren play
sports and he attended every game
and event he could. Robert was a
kind man who never knew a
stranger, who made everyone feel
loved and like family. He was a great

by his family and friends.

at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2016

THOMAS MEADOWS
Thomas Stephen Meadows,
almost made it to his 42n~ birthday
of July 17, but now he will be
spending it in heaven with his
Mamaw Irene and Papaw Bill, his
uncle Tommy and Papaw Jimmy.
Torn passed away at his river
camp where he loved to fish. His
dogs Fig, Roo, Champ, Baxter, Rizzy
and Squirrley by his side.
Tom is survived by his parents,
Steve and Linda Osborne Meadows;
grandmother, Mary Carol Meadows;
brother, Cris and wife Missa
Meadows; sister Mika Meadows and
boyfriend, Rick Cline; nephews,
Sean and Nash Meadows; niece,
Gracie and nephew Cy and niece
Mia Beth Cline; aunt and uncle,
Janet and Lee McClung; aunt and
uncle, Lynn and Philip Gwinn;
cousins, Kaylee McClung, Paige

Dwight D. “E—Boy” Richmond, 61,
of Abingdon, VA formerly of Brooks,
WV went home to be with the Lord
Friday, July 15, 2016 at the
Johnston Memorial Hospital in
Abingdon, VA following a battle with
cancer.
Born March 1, 1955 at Brooks he
was a son of the late Chalmer and
Mamie Bragg Richmond.
Dwight attended the Woodland
Baptist Church of Abingdon; was
formerly the warehouse manager for
Surface Bananna Inc.; delivered the
U.S. Mail for Graham Trucking and
was the co-owner of Cecil’s Market
in Abingdon. He was a member“ of
the Black Wolf Harley Davidson
Chapter of the Harley Owner’s
Group in Bristol, VA and enjoyed
being “free” riding his motorcycle ‘_
and a believer in Christ, as well as
spending time with family and
friends.
Preceding him in death are his
three brothers; Sam, Jimmy, and
Russell Jack Richmond.
Those left to cherish include his”
loving wife of 33 years, Ellen Kay
Richmond at home; one daughter,
Melanie Kay Richmond and fiance
Tyler Clay Blankenship of

Cathern Jane Gwinn Shaffer Age
81, of Jumping Branch, WV went
home to be with the Lord a on
Sunday, July 10, 2016 after a sudden
illness.
She was born October 23, 1934 at
Elton, WV. She was the daughter of
the late Samuel Elmore and Sylvia
Patterson Gwinn.
Cathern was a member of
Meadow Bridge Baptist Church and
attended Bluestone Baptist Church.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and
grandmother.
In addition to her parents she was
preceded in death by her beloved
husband of 42 years, Emory Shafi'er.

TERESA TALLMAN
Teresa Carol Tallman, 60 of
Walton, WV died Monday, July 11,
2016 at her home following a sudden
illness.
Born January 29, 1956 in
Baltimore, Maryland, she was the
daughter of the late Joseph and
Ethel Dickenson Perdue.
Mrs. Tallman was a homemaker
and was of the Baptist faith. She
enjoyed spending time with her
family, especially her beloved
granddaughters.
Survivors include her husband,
Terry Tallman. One son, Andy
Kennedy of Walton, WV; two
daughters, Tracy Lynn Hedrick and
Tonya Lee Hedrick; six
granddaughters, Kelsey Hill, Kayla

Eula Pauline Vandall Meadows
Turner Age 91, Passed away July 9,
2016 at Harrisonburg Rehabilitation
Center, Harrisonburg, VA. Born
April 27, 1925 at Sandstone, WV, she
was the daughter of Ulysses Earl
and Ina Noel Taylor Vandall. She
was a very active member of the
Laurel Creek Baptist Church at
Sandstone, WV, as long as her health
permitted, before moving to
Crimora, VA. She worked in
Baltimore, MD. at a military factory
making detonators during World
War II. She was one of the ladies
referred to as Rosie the Riveter.
Trained at Richmond Memorial
Hospital as a scrub technician in the
operating room. Then was employed
at Crippled Children’s Hospital in
Richmond, VA.
She moved back to Beckley, WV
area, where she was employed at
Appalachian Regional Hospital in
the operating room for 17 years,
before retiring.
Preceding her in death other than
her father and mother were three
brothers Kenneth, Billy, and Lloyd
Vandall, four Sisters Jean Surber,
Betty Ward, Dixie Hall, and Karen
Cales. Survivors include one
daughter Shirley Jean Harlow and
Husband Ernie, Covington, VA, one
son Leslie Van Turner, Crimora, VA.
One .grandson Michael Shafer of
Staurts Draft, VA, one great
granddaughter Brianna Shafer and
one great grandson Brandon Shafer.
One Brother Danny Vandall of
Sandstone, WV. Two sisters Mary
Dolin of White Sulphur Springs, WV
and Phyllis Foster of Granite Falls,

Dorothy Mae Williams, 91 of ;
Columbus, OH formerly of Hinton
died Wednesday uly 13, 2016 at her
home following a long illness.
Born August 3, 1924 in Akron,
OH, she was the daughter of the late
Carl and Ella Hughes Davis.
Mrs. Williams was a devoted wife,
mother and grandmother. She was
a homemaker and enjoyed spending
time with her beloved family and
cooking. She also enjoyed Gospel
singing and was a member of the
Hinton Church of Christ. She had
been a resident of Columbus since
2005.
She was preceded in death by her
husband, Edison “Rooster” Williams
in 1992. Also preceded by a son
James David Williams in 2014, one
sister, Nancy Bradley, one brother,
Frank Davis, three infant brothers,
Leon, Glen and Cecil Davis and a
step-daughter, Jean Williams.
Survivors include one son, Jay
Williams of Richmond, KY; two
daughters, Janet Duffy and Randy .
Dunlap of Columbus, OH and
Drema Williams of Hinton; two
brothers, Harry Davis of Asbury, WV
and Bernard Davis of Fayetteville,
'WV; 5 grandchildren, 7 great
grandchildren and sevei'al nieces
and nephews also survive.
