COMMUNITY SUPPORT
The Hinton Lions Club is asking
for the Communities support in
helping to provide those who need,
eye examinations or eye glasses.
The Hinton Lions have been
providing assistance for over 18
years and are asking community
organizations and businesses as well
as citizens for monetary donations
to continue providing help to those
in need in our community. As news
spreads of the help being provided,
requests are now outnumbering the
Lions Club's ability to help.
Once a request is received, the
individual's application is screened
to insure that other avenues of
assistance are pursued before the
Lions Club provides help.
Donations can be mailed to: Lions
Club, Sight Assistance Program,

Unique Mushroom Extract AHCC
(NAPS)--Once almost unheard of,
l,yme disease is now a household word.
"lhe U.S. ('enters for Disease Control
hod Prevention estimates there are
20,000 new cases a year, and 10 percent
of Arnericans say they know someone
:vith chronic Lyme disease.
Yet the illness is tricky to diagnose.
In the early phases, Lyme disease causes
symptoms that can easily be mistaken
for a case of the tlu. And while some
people see a distinctive bull's-eye-
shaped rash, not everyone does, and the
rash doesn't always look the same. As a
,result, it can take weeks or even months
to get a correct diagnosis.
Worse yet, as time elapses, the
bacterium that causes the disease
becomes much harder to eradicate--
making it more difficult to treat it
effectively. Fortunately, a new pilot
study shows that AHCC, a proprietary
medicinal mushroom extract developed
in lapan, can help alleviate the symptoms
of both early and chronic 14'me disease.
Lyme disease: A h~dden time bomb
Spread by black-legged ticks, I.yme
disease initially causes symptoms such
as rash, headaches, fatigue, fever, muscle
aches, and joint pain. Timely treatment
with antibiotics can be effective, hut if the
disease is not caught and treated early,
more serious symptoms such as short-
term memory Inss and heart palpitations
can emerge, as the bacterium spreads to
the brain and heart.
Ahhough early-detected l.yme
disease can be treated with antibiotics
lasting 14 to 21 days, untreated chronic
l,yme disease can continue for weeks,
lnonths, or even years after the tick bite.
