home, following a long illness.
Born Jan. 10, 1940, in Summers
County, she was the daughter of
Mae Lilly Hatcher of Nimitz and the
late Bill Hatcher.
Mrs. Whitten had lived most of
her life in Summers County, was a
member of the Nimitz Baptist
Church.
Other survivors include her hus-
band, Winfred W. (PeeWee) What-
ten; a son, Brett Whi tten of Jumping
Branch; a daughter, Denean W~it-
ten of Salem, N.C.; three brothers,
Gary and Bethel Hatcher, beth of
Nimitz and Harold (Hal) Hatcher of
