LENA F. AMICK
Mrs. Lena Florence Amick, 94,
formerly of Russellville, died died
Fri. June 29, at her home, following
a short illness.
Bern June 29, 1896, at Nutter-
ville, she was the daughter of the
late Andrew Scott and Laura Nut-
ter.
Mrs. Amick was a member of the
Sugar Grove United Methodist
Church at Quinwood and was a
homemaker.
She was preceded in death byher
husband, William Bartlett Amick in
1965 and a daughter, Laura M.
Amick in 1970.
Survivors include four sons, Carl
W. Amick of Nimitz, Fred V. Amick
of Canoga Park, Calif., Ray W. Amick
of Nevada City, Calif., and Robert K.
Amick of Elyria, Ohio, 13 grandchil-
dren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tues. at I p.m. at
the Sugar Grove United Methodist
Church with the Rev. Garland
Groves officiating. Burial will be in
the Sugar Grove Cemetery.
The body was at the Wallace and
Wallace Funeral Home in Rainelle
and at the church one hour prior to
services.
The Wallace and Wallace Funeral
Home in Rainelle was in charge of
the arrangements.
HOBERT BRAGG
OPAL MARIE BRAGG
Hobort Bragg, 66, and Opal Marie

Bragg, 63, both of Midway, died Sat.
June 23, at a Beckley hospital, fol-
lowing a car accident at Midway,
according to Raleigh County Sheriff,
• Michael Mangum.
Born Mar. 26, 1924, at Brooks, he
was the son of the late Grayson and
: Adaline Smith Bragg.
Bern May 30, 1927, at Hinton,
she was the daughter of the late
Fred Meadows and Bertha Mead-
ows Richmond.
Mr. Bragg was a member of the
UMWA District No. 17, was a dis-
abled miner and was a cutting ma-
chine operator, he was a World War
II U.S. Army paratrooper and at-
tended the Midway First Church of
Mrs. Bragg was ahomemaker and
attended the Midway First Church
of God.
Mrs. Bragg was preceded in death
by two brothers, Ottie and Charles
Meadows, a sister, Elsie Richmond.
Their survivors include four sons,
Hobart Bragg Jr. of Grafton, Ohio,
Gerald Bragg of Crab Orchard and
Randall and Jackie Bragg, both of
Midway; three daughters, Hilda
Workman of Shady Spring and Mary
Ann Maxey and Angela Green, both
of Crab Orchard; 17 grandchildren,
and three great- great- grandchil-
drsn.

include two brothers, Clarence Bragg
of Shady Spring and Bernard Bragg
ofJumping Branth, and five sisters,
Florence Richmond of Baltimore,
Md., Leola Meadows of Freezeland
Mountain, Annie Moten of Newbury,

Richinond of Irish Mountain.
. Other survivors for Mrs. Bragg
' ' include four brothers, Alvin Mead-
ows of Ralnelle, Andrew Meadows of
Meadow Bridge, Orville Meadows of
Shady Spring and Junior Meadows
of Hinton, and four sisters, Leona
Bragg of Lanark, Geneva Richmond
of Kilsyth, Ruby Wills of Hinton and
. Dorothy Carr of Rainelle.
Joint services were held Wed.

Funeral Home Chapel in Prosperity
with the Pastors Eddie Bragg, Tho-
mu Denny and Sister Hilda Shorter
officiating. Burial followed in the
.Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Billie B. Brandon, 73, died Sun.
June 24, at his home following an
ii apparent heart attack.

he was the ~n of the late Daniel B.
and Anna Elizabeth Jones Brandon.

dent of Hinton.
Survivors include a brother, Pat-
ii rick H.Brandon of Alderson; four
sisters, Mary Ethel Cales of Whit-
tier, Calif., Anna Belle Albert of
Radford, Va.; Ruth Lemon of
Roanoke, Va., and Betty Jo Cales of
Lebannon, Ohio, and several nieces
• and nephews.
Servic~ were held Wed. June 27
at 11 a.m. at the Ronald Meadows
., Funeral Parlors Chapel in Hinton
"with the Bey. Eddie Johnson offici-
~ ating. Burial followed in the King
Cemetery at Sandstone.

Hinton, Lynwall Boone of Richmond,
Va., Milan Boone of McCollivelle,
Ohio, Steve Boone of Alderson,James
Boone Stockport, Ohio and Kerwin
Boone of Bluefield, Va.; two daugh-
ters, Delana Grimmett of Hinton
and Doris Ward of Colonial Heights,
Va.; 21 grandchildren, and eight
great-grandchildren.
Services were held Wed. June 27
at 2 p.m. at the Lobban Funeral
Home Chapel in Alderson with the
Rev. Elwood Cales officiating. Bur-
ial followed in the Tempa Mission-
ary Baptist Church Cemetery at

White Dearer, died Sat. June 16, at

Born i n Ronceverte, W.Va., he was
the son of the late Dave and Dollie
Clarke Deaver. He was retired from
Virginia Electric and Power Com-
pany, a U.S. Army World War II
veteran and a member of American
Legion Post 92. Mr. Dearer was
honorary mayor of Seven Fork s Trail
and a member of the First Baptist
Church of Livonia.
Surviving are widow; daughters
Mrs. Dale (Sidney Kaye) Nelson of"
Alpharetta, Ga., Mrs. Max (Eliza-
beth Ann ) Bradley of Virginia Beach,
Va.; sons, Stephen Douglas Deaver

dren and four great-grandchildren.

Weldon Funeral Home Chapel by
