JOHN HENRY DAYS 4 MILE
RUN AND 1 MILE FUN WALK
The John Henry Days 4 Mile Run
and 1 Mile Fun Walk will be held on
Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 8:00 a.m.
at the Talcott Public Access bridge.
Registration is available several

Traffic Caution for JHD
Run & Walk
Traffic will be affected in Talcott
for the John Henry 4 Mile Run/Walk
on July 9, 2016 from 8:00 a.m. -9:00
a.m, from the Talcott Bridge and
public access area following the
Talcott/Lowell road to Kellers
Church. The walk will take place on
Bill Perdue Road. Traffic will be held
at 8:00 a.m. for runners and walkers
to begin the race, then traffic will
be urged to proceed with caution as
runners and walkers are on the
roads.
VETERANS MUSEUM
SCHEDULE
The museum will be open at 419
Ballengee Street each Saturday
through November 5 from noon until
4:00 p.m. An unique opp0rtUnity to
view history from the Early Frontier
to the present day world is provided
its by numerous displays. Tour
guides will be present. Admission is
free.
RAILROAD RETIREE GROUP
PHOTO BEING PLANNED
A commemorative calendar to
celebrate the 50th Anniversay of
Raliorad Days will include a group
photo of railroad retirees. The photo
will be taken at the Railroad
Museum at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday,
July 9.

WATER FESTIVAL GLOW
WALK
Hinton Fire Department Ladies
are sponsoring a GLOW WALK
again this year with all proceeds~
going to Bowers Hospice House.
Date: Aug. 3
Time: Walk begins at 9:00 p.m.
Registration from 8:15 p.m. to
8:45 p.m. at Park Ave. in from of the
Memorial Building.
Place: Walk begins at Memorial
Building through the beautiful
Historic Town of Hinton and will end
at Park Ave.
Entry fee: Walk Fee is $20.
Children under 12 are $10. Only
participants that pre-register will
receive a t-shirt and glow bands:
Due by July 1.
All participants will receive glow
bands while available. Prizes wil be
given out at end of the walk.
Memorial Balloon release will be at
the completion of the walk. You may
purchase a glow in the dark balloon

GOSPEL SING DINNER
Jumping Branch- Nimitz- Senior
Community Center will be having a
Gospel sing on July 2 at 6:00 p.m.
Singers will be Uncle Sam's Gospel
Gang. The Center is located on Rt.
3 behind the Jumping Branch

Jumping Branch School. Please

the Talcott Fire Department. We will
meeting every Thursday starting
June 23 until week of festival.

BASKETBALL CAMP
Bobcat Basketball Camp will be
held at-the Summers County High
School Gymnasium July 5 - 8 for
boys entering grades 2 to 9. Boys
entering grades 2 - 5 will attend
camp from 8:30 - 12:00. Boys
entering grades 6 - 9 will attend
camp from 12:30 - 4:00. Campers
should arrive approximately 30
minutes before the start of camp on
Monday and 10 minutes before camp
each day thereafter. Campers should
come prepared with gym shoes,
shorts, and T-shirt.
The awards ceremony and final
competition will begin at 11:00 a.m.
on Friday for boys grades 2 - 5 and
3:00 for those in 6 -9. No lunch will
be served, however, snacks and
drinks will be available.
Cost for camp is $40 per camper.

session will include age appropriate
instructions on the fundamental"
skills of the game. Instruction will
be given by Bobcat Coaching Staff

atmosphere and will promote good
sportsmanship and a positive
attitude. Each camper will received
a Bobcat Basketball T-shirt.
Campers will have a chance to
compete in games and daily
contests. Trophies will be awarded
on Friday to winners of our various
competitions.
