. REUNION
:The Annual Irish Mountain
Reunion will be held Sunday, July
20, 2003, at the old Jimmie
Rookstoors Farm on Irish Mountain.
Te gates will open at 10:00AM and
the cover dish dinner will commence
at 2:00 PM. Come enjoy in the

;PREPARED CHILD BIRTH
CLASSES
The REACHH-MIHOW Program
is offering child birth classes for
women who are at least 28 weeks
pregnant. Classes will begin
Tuesday, July I and be held one time
weekly for six weeks. The time will
be 6:00 PM. There is no charge for
the classes and the instructor will
be Jennifer Pack, PAC.
Classes will be held at the Family
Resource Center, 411 Temple Street,
Hinton. Participants must be pre-

WV WATER FESTIVAL QUILT
SHOW
The WV Water Festival Quilt
Show registration will be
Wednesday, July 31st. 10:00 a.m. to
1:00 p.m. The quilts will be judged
and hung Wednesday afternoon. The
fee will be $2.00 per quilt.
Registration forms may be picked up
at the WVU Extension Office, Court
House Addn., 466-7113.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED/
The West Virginia Water Festival
Board of Directors is seeking
Reenactment Volunteers (period
1750-1870) to man a frontier
encampment and bateau boat
during the 2003 WV State Water
Festival in Hinton, WV.
Dates for the encampment will be
August 1-3. Interested parties

SIGN-UPS FOR SUMMERS
COUNTY YOUTH FOOTBALL
Summers County Youth Football
will be having sign-ups at City
Sidetrack Park in Hinton on
Wednesday June 25th. from 6:00
until 9:00. There will be an 11 and
12 year old team, and an 8, 9 and 10
year old team.
Age requirements are that you
must still be 12 on September lst.,
or at least 8 on September 1st. Kids
registration must have a birth
certificate and a $25 sign-up fee.
Practice will begin in late July.

with the virus by the Southeastern
Cooperative Wildlife Disease Study
at the University of Georgia, College
of Veterinary Medicine. All states
bordering West Virginia have
identified the West Nile virus within
their confines•
"West Nile virus may be spread to
people by the bite of an infected
mosquito. When outdoors during
mosquito season, people can protect
themselves by being properly
clothed in long, loose and light
colored clothing and use mosquito
repellants containing DEET. When
using products that contain DEET,
use according to the manufacturer's
recommendations. Never apply
products containing DEET to faces
and hands of children. In addition,
mosquito populations can be
reduced by removing all standing
