Meadows Funeral Home in Hinton with the Rev. Ray Martin officiating. Burial followed in the Keatley Springs Cemetery. Mr. Adkins died'at 5:15 p.m. Thursday in a Hinton hospital after a long illness. Born in Hinton Oct. 14, 1923, he was a son of the late Hun- ter and Pearlie Gill Adkins. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Bryson Adkins; two sons, Fred Jr. and Jeffrey L. Adkins, both at home; three brothers, William, Henry and James; two sisters, Mrs. Nell- ice Adkins and Mrs. Ethel Grose; three half brothers, Eugene, Everett and Melvin, and one half sister, Mrs. Ella' Owens, all of Hinton. JAMES Thirstal C. James, 64, of 106 Summers St., Hinton, died Sat- urday morning at 2:10 a.m. at home after a long illness. ' Born Dec. 28, 1914, at Kane Fork, W.Va., he was a son of the late Frank and Lottie Wool- wing James. Mr. James was a veteran of World War II. "Pit Area". UFO Sighting? A firey falling object was reportedly speLLed Sunday night in the Greenbrier Drive area of Hinton. The object was describ- ed as approximately five feet in diameter and glowing "like a fusee". It also was described as falling, not hovering.. Twyman and fined $25; Oley Randolph was fined $,30 after being charg- ed with fishing without a license by Larry Case; Billy R. Gill and Arnold Gill were charged with intoxication by B.W. Twyman and Billy Gill was also charged with Reckless driving. June 6 B.W. Twyman charged Dale Barker with failure to maintain control, fined $25; Julius Wills was charged with intoxication by H.D. Richmond; Ernest Ayers was charged with intoxi- cation by T.K. Richmond and sentenced TO 8 days. June 7 Larry Case charged the C&O Railroad with allowing a fire to escape, $80 fine; Case also charged James C. Stafford with fishing without a license, fined $30; C.A. Shaver charged John Newman with driving while revoked and driving while in- toxic|ted, sentenced to two and ten days respectively. June 8 Larry Case charged Mark A. The car caught fire injured when his car struck a bridge on Beech and was gutted before firemen arrived. .Lilly. Seriously Injured Edward Keith Lilly, 25, mr Charleston was seriously injur- ed early Sunday morning when his oar struck a bridge abut+ merit on West Virginia Route 3. Lilly was thrown from the car which caught fire on impact. The Summers County Ambu- lance Service took Lilly to the Summers County Hospital, and he was later transferred to the Beckley Veterans Administra- tion Hospital where ,,he was reported in eatlsfactory condi. tion Sunday afternoon. The Summers County Fire Department extinguished the blaze but the interior of the car was completely gutted. Trooper Mace of the Hinton Detachment of the State Police investigated the accident.
