6 - HJnton News Tues. June 15, 1999 Shakespearean Comedy
"AsYou Like It" To Be
Staged July 1-3
"As You Like It," one 0f William
Shakespeare's most successful
comedies, will be staged in the
outdoor amphitheater of Pipestem
Resort State Park on July 1-3. The
Concord College Theatre, directed
by Dr. Jim Lile, will present the
production beginning at 8 p. m. each
evening.
Written almost exactly four
centuries ago, the pleasant tale of
true 10ve contending with concealed
identities in an exotic forest still
retains the vitality, humanity and
wit conjured up by one of the
greatest writers in the English
language. The new production
retains all of the original text, and
will be performed in period
costumes. The setting is reminiscent
of the conditions when the play was
first staged in the outdoor theatres

WHAT WE BELIEVE
at Riverview Chapel
SOME POINTS TO PONDER:
CAN WE BE SURE OF HEAVEN? WHAT ABOUT SALVATION?
The word simply means deliverance. We speak of a person being
"saved" from drowning. In fact some of us have gone thru that
experience. Bible salvation has to do with the soul, the person,
their life.
WHY MUST A PERSON BE SAVED?
1. THE FACT OF MAN'S SIN: Gen 6:4,12 tells that ell flesh had
corrupted their ways. David says "Behold I was shapen in
iniquity." Isaiah says: "All we like sheep have gone astray."
Jeremiah continues: "The heart Is deceitful above all things."
Paul says in Romans 3: "There is none righteous, and All have
sinned and come short of the glory of God."
2.THE FACT OF GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS:
God is Holy and must punish sin. John 3:36 tells us: "He that
belleveth on the Son hath everlasting life; and he that belleveth
not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on
him."
HOW CAN A PERSON BE SAVED?
Romans 10:9 Is one of the many good promises of Salvation: It
says: That If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus
and shelf believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the
dead, thou shalt be saved." Some other excellent verses are John
5:24; 6:37; Ephealans 2:8,9; Romans 5:1; I Peter 2:24 and
Revelation 3:20.
CAN WE KNOW FOR SURE THAT WE ARE SAVED FROM SIN?
In I John 5:13 we read: These things have I written unto you that
believe on the name of the Son of God: that ye may KNOW that ye
have Eternal life." Notice It Is not guess so, think so or hope so,
but KNOW SO!
