Hinton was named an All West Vir-
ginia Community. Only one other
cityin the state, Charleston, achieved
such an honor this year.
The All West Virginia Commu-
nity program is sponsored by the
West Virginia Chamber of Com-
merce. The other sixteen (16) com-
munities receiving such award for

The Aug. 4 canoe contest will let

endurance on flat water, Liekus said.
For those who prefer to restrict
their athletic pursuits to solid
ground, the festival will include a
distance run and softball and golf
tournaments, Liekus said.

Hinton's development.
