CONNIE CREWS Connie Crews, 62, passed away on May 13, 2018. She was a beloved mother, sister, and friend. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and loved her daughters, grandchildren, and community. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Sebastian Edward Nole Crews, her father, Edward Slay, her mother, Colleen Forest, and her step-father Charles Forrest. Connie is survived by her three daughters, Melissa Blair (Trent) of Hazlehurst, Georgia, Patricia Butler (Derrick) of Lake City, Florida, and Cynthia Crews of Richmond, Virginia. Her grandchildren Devin Wood, Krystyna Blair, Trent Blair Jr. and Mya Warren and one great grandson Kayden Miller. She is also survived by three sisters, two brothers, and her best friend Laura. Several nieces and nephews also survive. No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are by the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors of Hinton. Condolences may be sent to the family at wwwonaldmeadows fp.com CDL Classes Offered at New River CTC Starting in June and July [GHENT, W.Va.] New River Community and Technical College will offer two Class A CDL classes this summer at the college's Advanced Technology Center, Ghent. The upcoming class dates are June 11 and July 30. "This is a great program for those looking to train for a new career as there is a high demand for Class A CDL drivers," explained Program Specialist Gloria Kincaid. "There is normally a wait list, therefore, we have scheduled two classes to fulfill the need." The six-week course provides 180 contact hours of training to prepare students for the driving test at a state examination site. The classes will be held Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. o Preregistration is required by June 6 for the June class and July 25 for the July class as limited seating is available.
