May 24, 1979 Letter to the Editor: "I do not Intend To Run For Any Office" May 21, 1979 To: Editor of the HintonNews .Hinton, West Virginia 25951 Dear Sirs: In last week&apos;s paper there was an article whereby the Rep- ublican party intended to try and field a group of candidates for office in the coming gen- eral election in the City of Hinton. In that article my name was mentioned along with • others that could be candidates for city council. I was not con- suited in any way concerning this matter and I do not in- tend to run for any office. Had I desired to run for an office, I would have filed at the proper time and not run as a write in candidate. I do appreciate my friends  and the voters for this vote of confidence, but I do not intend to run for office in this gen- eral election. Yours most sincerely, Harold B. A loon, common to the Canadian north woods Ticket Sales Good Advance ticket sales indicate that the : .• "New Virginians" • from VPI will again be seen and heard by capacity audiences, when they make their fourth annual appearance in Pipestem Park Resort's Amphitheatre May 26, 27, and 28th at 9 p.m. Under the direction of John Howell, a former associate of John Denver, the "New Virg- inians" will present an entirely new program that will include Broadway musical hits, country - western, Jazz, rock and roll and Handel's "Hallaluia Chorus " in a modern upbeat setting. Following the appearance of the "New Virginians " at Pipe- stem, Howell will go to Florida as director of the All- American College Singers at Disney World, and the opening number here will be the same as that for the All- American Singers spec- ial opening at the World famous Florida Park• One of the highlights of the shows at Pipestem will feature the latest super- hit of the Bee- Gees that will showcase the "New Virginians" show band and the dancing talents of the! group, i Only 535 reserved seats are! available in the amphitheatre, and will sell for $3 each• Per - sons desiring reserved seat' tickets should marl checks to Pipestem State Park, Pipe- I stem, W.
