HISTORICAL SOCIETY
MEETING
The Summers County Historical
Society will meet on Tuesday, May
17, at 6:00 p.m. in the basement of
St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Bring
food and/or drink items. A business
meeting will follow the meal.
All member are urged to attend
and the public is invited to attend!
REUNION
Announcing the 14th annual
Forest Hill School Reunion to be
held Saturday, June 11 at Summers
County 4-H Camp on the Greenbrier
River.
Registration is from 10:00 a.m. to
12:00 noon. We request each person
pay a small charge of $2 at time of
registration. Food will be prepared
and served by the 4-H Camp Staff
at a cost of $13. Menu will include
choice of two meats, vegetables,
salad, dessert and drink. Meal
served at 12 noon sharp. Plans are
to have a group picture made around
1:00 p.m. as we have done in the
past. Please register and pay
appropriate fees upon arrival. Mark
you calendar for June 11, 2016 and
plan to be with us on that special
day. Also pass the work to your
friends just in case we missed
anyone. PS. This may be the last
reunion.
WAR RIDGE FREE WILL
BAPTIST CHURCH REVIVAL
The War Ridge Free Will Baptist
Church will be holding a revival
each evening starting on Thursday,
May 19th at 7 p.m. and continuing
through Saturday, May 21. The
evangelist for our three day revival
will be Pastor Justin Farley. Special
music will be provided by Llnda Fox
on Thursday, Earl Brewer on Friday,
and Tom Gillenwater on Saturday.

Jumping Branch/Nimitz Senior/
Community Center will have a Jam
Session on May 21 at 5:30 p.m. til??
The Center will have food & baked
goods to sell. Bring a song,
instrument, or story and enjoy a
evening of fellowship. The Center is
raising money •for repairs on the
building. The Center is located on
Rt. 3 behind the Jumping Branch
Elementary School and Tabernacle.

Mosquito bites can be more than
just annoying and itchy. They can
make you really sick from diseases
that are transmitted by bites.
Protect yourself and your family
when outdoors by following these
tips:
-Use mosquito repellents
containing DEET, picaridin, IR3535,
and ell of lemon eucalyptus and
wear repellents during all times
when outdoors.
-Consider wearing long-sleeved
shirts and pants
-Remove potential mosquito
breeding sites near homes such as
containers with standing water,
tires, etc. Mosquitos can breeding
very small amounts of standing
water.
-Make sure that window and dool
screens are intact to prevent
mosquitoes from coming indoors.

to initiate annual review and to update the ENEC rates
currently in effect.
Case No. 16-0240-E-P
Appalachian Power Company and Wheeling Power
Company, beth dba American Electric Power, Petition
for review of Vegetation Management Program and
True-Up of VMP Surcharge.
Notice of Filing and Heariing
On March 1, 2016, Appalachian Power Company
(APCo) and Wheeling Power Company (WPCo), beth
doing business as American Electric Power (jointly, the
Companies) filed their 2016 petition to initiate the
annual Expanded Net Energy Cost IENEC)
proceeding. APCo and WCo propose to increase ENEC
rates to produce an additional $108.3 million in annual
ENEC revenues, continue and expand the
Transmission Investment Charge, create a Generation
Investment Charge, address recovery of certain fLxed
cesta formerly attributable to Felman Production, LLC,
and be afforded other relief as set forth in the
Companies' Petition, which is on file with the
Commission. The proposed increase i ~ revenues is
approximately 7.3 percent more than the Companies'
current overall rates.
Under the Companies' proposal, the Transmission
Investment Charge would be applicable to~~
transmission projects iu excess of $10 million and to
transmission projects mandated by PJM
Intoreannection, L.L.C., or any successor thereto. The ,
Generation Investment Charge would apply to the
Clinch River Project that was certificated in Case No.
13-0784-E-CN and other projects approved by the
Commission.
On March 1, 2016, APCo and WPCo also fled a
Petition for review of their Vegetation Management 4
Program (VMP) and true-up of the VMP Surcharge
that was approved by the Commission on May 26,
2015, in Case Nes. 14-n52-E-42T and 14. llbl-E-D.
The Companies do not propose to change the current
VMP surcharge.
The Commission set a procedural schedule,
including a hearing date in both of these cases for June
13, 2016. The hearing will begin at 9:30 a.m. on
Wednesday, June 1, 2016, in the Howard M.
Cunningham Hearing Room at the Commission's
offices at 201 Brooks Street, Charleston, West Virginia,
and continue each day thereafter, if necessary.
Anyone desiring to intervene and act as a party in
either of these cases should file a Petition to Intervene
within ton days following the date of this publication,
complying with the rules on intervention set forth in
the Commission's Rules of Practice and Procedure.
Anyone desiring to pretest should file a written pretest
as soon as possible although protests will be accepted
throughout the pandency of this proceeding. All written
protests should briefly state the reason for the pretest.

The Big Bend Public Service District has filed with
the West Virginia Public Service Commission an
application requesting increased rates and changes for
the provision of water services for its customers in.
Summers Couuty.
The Staff of the Public Service Commission has
reviewed the application and recommended a two-step
declining increase in Big Bend's rates. The first rate
would be in place for 24 months, the be replaced with
a lower second rate. The Staff- recommended rate
