Mrs. Margie Judy Secretaries Day, Apr. 21, was celebrated at Sandstone by honor- ing the secretary, Margie Judy. Mrs. Judy has proven herself to be a dedicated secretary. She arrives at the school around 7:20 each morn- ing to begin her busy day. After sign- ing students up for breakfast and lunch and checking them off for breakfast, she does the hot lunch book work and deposit, prepares the absence list, works on various school correspondence including newslet- ters, memos, menus, letters for the principal and teachers, and special reports, answers and screens phone calls, attends to student and parent needs, and still has time for a cheery greeting for all who enter her office. To show how much Mrs. Judy is appreciated for all of the work, the staff presented her with an azalea plant. While she was checking off the students in the breakfast lithe, Mrs. Brown prepared some of the students for the presentation, then she began asking the whole group of students what various people at the school were responsible for doing. Each time a question was asked, the students responded with the proper person. When the answer to the question was "the secretarf, the students and staff gave her a big hand and then Ray Gill, school custodian, presented her with the potted plant. Mrs. Judy also celebrated a birthday on Apr. 24th. Happy Birthday Mrs. Judy; Just another example of how this school's staff works together in spreading happiness and sharing in memorable events.
