The old Woodie Guthrie song
'This Land is our Land' was
the theme of this year's earth
day celebration. This land, for
those of us who live in Summers
County, is stunning, magnificent
and spectacular! Earth Day was
celebrated on Sunday, April 22 at
Bellepoint Park in Hinton.
Activities included painting
bee boxes, from the Appalachian
Beekeeping collective and watching
bees work in the display hive.
There were lots of free items
to help people care for the earth
better: reusable shopping bags and
collapsible water bottles, litter bags
for your car, maple trees and books.
Music by Summers County KIDS
and Gayle Bugg expressed our care
for the earth and for each other.
Of course, anything valuable
