lng were read and approved

ceived.
Volunteering to work at the
Pediatric Clinic April 5, 1964,
were Mrs. Timberlake and
Mrs. J. C. Wise.
Mrs. Wise announced the
club would meet for brunch at
10:30, a.m. May 2, 1964, at
Pipeslem Park.
A contribution was voted
upon for the literary publicat-
ion of Hinton High School Kal-
eidoscope.
Miss Boley, president, and
Mrs. Herbert Van, delegate,
attended the 78th annual meet-
ing of West Virginia Federat-
ion of Women's Clubs, at The
Greenbrier, White Sulphur Sp-
rings, March 15, 16 and 17. The
Wednesday Club was named as
an Honor club, also a Blue
Ribbon Honor club for outst-
anding work in meeting all
Honor Club Requirements. In
addition to being elected by the
Convention as Chairman of
Education Priorities for West
Virginia Miss Boley was crown-
ed Queen for a Day.
The Spring Workshop of
Southern District will be held in
Bluefield, W. Va., April 28,
, in the United Methodist Ch-
urch. Registration will begin at
9:00 a.m.
Following the business meet-
ing, Mrs. Wise introduced the
guest speaker, Mr. C, eae Cox,
Chief of Interpretation with the
National Park Service for the
past 16 years, who explained
the Park Service's pla= for the
future. The park began visitor
the Canyon Rim and Hinton
Visitor Centers. The Hinton
Vis-
itor Center now has a full - time
employee, Ann Bell, who will he
at the Center from spring th-
rough fall. Mr. Cox stated a
chronology of New River, the
oldest river in North Ameri-
ca, was in the making by the
Park Service. In a most inter-
eating and informative mann-
er, Mr. Cox gave his list-
eners a glance into the past.
At the conclusion of the pro-
gram Mr. Cox was presented a
gift of appreciation from the
club by Mrs. Wise.

Federation of Women's Clubs,
met in The Greenbrier in White
Sulphur Springs, West Virginia
for a four day annual con-
vention on March 14 - 17, 1984.
The General and State off-
icers were elected. The re-
sults will be listed in the next
Federated Women's Club mag-
azine. The Wednesday Club
and Hinton Woman's Club were
represented by the following:
Betty Jo Basham, Dorothy
Jean Boley, Lena Wilson, Jane
Conner, Frances Bowman, Ath-
leen Lawson, Nancy Brown,
Mary Frances Talhert, Vergie
O' Bryan, and Nadine Vass.
Mrs. Betty Jo Basham was
presented with a gravel as a
newly installed Club to the
Federation. Dorothy Jean
Boley, a member of both The
Wednesday Club and Hinton
Woman's Club ~:eceived the
appointment of Chairman in
the Education Division, State
Level, Priories.
The Hinton Women's Club
had their first meeting to start
