King Cemetery Fund c/o First Community Bank 298 Stokes Drive Hinton, WV. 25951 beyond our control. # • or Patsy (Harris) Wingfieid, Treasurer i[ litBy GUiYe!Rl' - 1606 Temple St. Hinton, WV. 25951 Uohn 8:32) Last week we discussed the one baptism taught by the apostles and gospel preachers of the first century. Why is the one baptism so important? Because the one baptism they taught was through the inspiration of the Holy Ghost; it came from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one spirit. How can we all, by one Spirit, be baptized into one body? The answer is very simple; When we obey what the Spirit tells us to do by the word of God; "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 2: 38. If we have faith to understand this, and obey it, we will be in the one body taught in Ephesians 4:4. Ephesians 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling If we believe the word of God in Ephesians chapter 4, we will by faith understand there is one body. In order to understand the one body we first must understand what the body the apostle Paul is speaking of is. Ephesians chapter 1 tells us what that one body is. Ephesians 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the' head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. If we believe the word of God in Ephesians chapter i verses 22 and 23 we will by faith understand the body of Christ is the church (. Christ, which he shed his precious blood for on the cross. Since there is one body (the church), there is one church; this is not rocket science, it is the one faith that comes by hearing the word of God, Romans 10:17, the faith Jesus Christ will be looking for when he returns, Luke 18:8 "...When the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" If we believe the New Testament we should have faith to understand there is only one church, the church our Lord and savior Jesus Christ died for on the cross. If we believe all that the New Testament teaches, we will have faith to understand there is only one, baptism which is the baptism Peter preached on the day of Pentecost. This baptism is for the remission of sins, Acts 2: 38. If we do not believe all the New Testament teaches we will fall for anything, and we will be lost!
