Ways to pay
your water bill
Kroger no longer accepts utility payments.
West Virginia-American Water Company provides a large
network of convenient collection locations throughout the
state. Although the Kroger's chain has decided to stop
accepting all utility payments effective March 14, we are
working hard to find another chain that we can add to our list.
The Company regrets that Kroger has made this decision,
therefore causing possible inconvenience to our customers.
Another choice for payment is to pay through the mail by
using the envelope provided each month in your water bill.
The third option is to have the amount of your bill electronically
deducted from your bank account.
Once WV-Amedcan secures new payment locations in
your area, you will be notified.

Filling in the Missing Pieces
Flexible Services for Families,
which includes the Respite Care and
Flexible Funding programs,
participated in the second annual
"Celebrating Connections"
conference, at the Charleston Civic
Center in February. The three day
conference, which is sponsored by
numerous state education and social
service agencies, focuses on
connecting communities through
early childhood care and education.
Flexible Services shared the "nuts
and bolts" of developing a family
focused and parent-driven
collaborative through a one hour and
15 minute presentation called
"Filling in the Missing Pieces." The
session included a slide show
depicting several families who have
received assistance through the
program, while their own recorded
voices told their stories. In addition,
four volunteer parent members of
our Advisory Board traveled with us
to share their feelings and
motivation for their high level of
involvement and commitment to
this project. Packets of information
were available for participants to
take back to their own community
and contact information was
provided for any future questions
they might have in developing their
own programs.
For more information on Flexible
Services for Families, please contact
Lynn Hutchison, Program
Coordinator, at 466-2226. This
project is funded through the West
Virginia Families First Project
under an agreement with the
Governor's Cabinet on Children and
Families and the West Virginia
