HINTON LITI'LE LEAGUE
Sign Up For Baseball and Soft-
ball will be held Fri. and Sat., Mar.
15 and 16. Location City Side Track
from 6 pm to 8 pm each day. Boys
and girls from ages 6 thru 12 are
welcome. The age of the players will
be determined by their age Aug. 1
91. All returning players from last
year must sign up again in order to
play. The registration fees will be
$7.00 per player, $10.00 from two in
the same family and $12.00 for three
or more in same family. Fee should
be paid on the night of registration.
The League is made up from the
following:
Tee Ball - Girls & Boys - 6 - 7 year
old, Minor League - Girls & Boys - 8
- 12 year old, Softball - Girls - 9 - 12
year old, Little League - Boys - 9 - 12
year old, Senior League - Girls - 13 -
15 year old, Big League - Girls - 16 -

In Hinton Independent Basket-
ball League auction this week Hill-
top Lounge downed Jones' Realty in
overtime 110-106. Hilltop Lounge
was led in scoring by Jimmy Fox
with 41 and Ken Harshaw with 38.
Jones' Realty was paced by Billy
Don Farley with 26, Scott Morgan
with 24 and Bill Keaton with 23.
In the second game it was Rogers'
Oil defeating Scott's PTServices 125-
93. Wayne Ryan led Rogers' oil with
49 points followed by Ricky Brown
with 26. Dick Gunnoe led Scott's PT
Services with 37 followed by Jay
McBride with 23.
The final game of the day saw the
Shooting Stars down Mulligans 95-
71. The Shooting Stars were led by
Chris Pence with 25 and Brian
Bowling with 21. Mulligans was led
by Hobie Keaton with 31 points.
The final week of the regular
season will be played this Sun. Ro-
gers' oil who plays the Hilltop
Lounge and the Shooting Stars who
play Scott's PT Services must both
win in order to finish the regular
seKson in a tie for first place. The
other game will be Mulligans versus
Jones' Realty-.

Serviceperson Honored
Williams' Grocery at Green Sulphur Springs is showing
their support for our troops in Saudi Arabia. Each week a
Summers County serviceperson will be honored with their
picture on the bulletin board at the store. Community

Wendy S. Braswell, daughter of
Carole Cox of Hilldale, was named
to the dean's list for the spring
semester at West Virginia Wesleyan
College, announced Dr. Barbara
Richardson, dean of the college.
Wendy is a freshman. Students
named to the dean's list must have
maintained a minimum grade point
average Of 3.35 on a 4.0 scale for the
semester.
West Virginia Wesleyan College
is a four-year , coeducational institu-
tion that, Offers more than 50 aca-
demic ma3ors in the liberal arts and
career-related fields of study. It has
been recognized as one of the finest
liberal arts colleges of its size in the
mid-Atlantic region. Affiliated with

Completes
Workshop
James E. Bowling has just com-
pleted the Life Insurance Sales
Workshop conducted by Nationwide
Insurance Company. It was held at
the Nationwide Training Center in
Columbus, Oh.
The workshop concentrated on
helping clients determine their in-
surance needs and recommending
the proper products to cover those
needs.
Jim Bowling is employed by the
Ann H. Gore Insurance Agency at
217 Ballengee St.,in Hinton as the
Associate Agent.
Jim is a graduate of Hinton High
School and has also completed In-
surance Schools of W. Vs. Life and
Health courses. He is married to
Barbara Bowling and they have two
sons, Mitch and Brian.

The purpose of this bill is to allow
a tax deduction of $75.00 annually
to members of volunteer fn'e depart-
ments for purchase of protective gear
and other clothing.
S. B. 577
The purpose of this bill is to allow
people who graduated from high
school in W. Vs., who have immedi-
ate family members in W. Va. or who
were born in W. Vs. to purchase a
resident huntingand fishinglicense.
In such instances, the higher fee
for non-resident applications would
be reduced to the state resident fee.
This bill isin the Senate Commit-
tee on Natural Resources.
Robert Moses, the man who planned many of New York's parkways,
bridges and tunnels, never learned to drive a car.

AECS (AW) John E. Harvey left
Norfolk Air Station on Dec. 27th for
military duty somewhere in the
Persian Gulf. He is now aboara the
Naval Carrier USS America.
Harvey is the 1969 graduate of
Hinton High School and the son of
Walda Harvey of Hinton and the
late Sarah B. Harvey.
His wife Ruth Harvey is residing
in Virginia Beach, Va.
