IS A FUNERAL
0g]OESSARY?
is one of the most
difficult losses we cqn ex-
perience.-especia|ly the death
of a family member or spouse,
The wake and funeral ser-
vices con be "'tools" that help us
accept the fact of death and
permanent separation as the
red thing. The wake becomes a
time of consolation Io those
who hove experienced the Ioss-
• a time for friends to SHARE
their grief.
The funeral helps us
remember the life of the lost
one, it provides strength for the
family and friends and com-
municates to all those offending
that this life is now permanently
separated from ours.
It is my experience that some
who da not attend the funeral of
o loved and dose one suffer
more afterwards• The funeral
con become the first stepping
stone to the rebuilding of our
own lives without the presence
of the deceased.
Call us if you'd like more helpful
information and booklets on the

Signing Program
Begins
Jim Carrico, Superintendent
of New River Gorge National
River, announced today that
~sitors to the park and area
residents will soon see new
road signs identifying entry
and exit points at a dozen sites
on roadways that traverse the
boundary of the National Park
Servie~ area.
The new i, eotangular 30qnch
by 5 feet signs, which will be
erected at locations in Sum-
mers, Raleigh and Fayette co-
unties, have the standard re-
creational brown background
with white reflective letters
and the National Park Service
arrowhead symbol•
"I want to assure area res-
idents who live within the leg-
islatively mandated boundaries
of the park that these signs are
part of the park program to let
visitors know when they have
arrived at this nationally sign-
ificant area. I hope that our
park neighbors will not see
these signs as any kind of a
threat to their property or their
regular routines", . said
Carrico. " We hope the res-
idents will protect these new
signs because it is one way that
we, in southern West Virginia
can say a friendly welcome to
the many visitors who will be
coming the the park."
The sites where the new signs
are being installed are on the
West Virginia Department OR
Highways' right-of-way and are
being placed with the permiss-
ion from that state department.
" We appreciate the cooperat-
ion of Highway Commissioner
Charles L. Miller and his de-
vartment in assisting us in
erecting these signs." said
Carnco• "We look forward to
working cooperatively with the
Department of Highways in the
future as we develop New River
Gorge National River for the
,~ople of West Virginia and the
aation". Carrico concluded.

A MESSAGE FROM SENATOR LACY WRIGHT:
PEOPLE WONDER WHY I AM A CRITIC OF THE
OVERNMENT OF JAY ROCKEFELLER. LET ME TRY
TO TELL YOU WHY.
• .FIRST OF ALL, I BELIEVE WE HAVE TO GET THE
TRUTH FROM OUR GOVERNMENT.LAST MONTH THE
ROCKEFELLER ADMINISTRATION TRIED TO MAKE US
BELIEVE THAT THE PRE'SENT LAW WOULD NOT
ALLOW THE WEST VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OFilUMAN
SERVICES TO REMOVE A FOUR YEAR OLDGIRL FROM A
HOME FROM WHICH AN 18 MONTH OLD ABUSED BABY
BOY HAD ALREADY BEEN RESCUED. ~
• . TIlE TRUTH IS THAT THE ROCKEFELLER
ADMINISTRATION HAD THE RIGHT AND THE; DUTY TO
PROTECT THOSE CHILDREN•
• .THE ADMINISTRATION FAILED ITS DUTY AND THE
FOUR YEAR OLD CHILD WAS LEFT IN THE HOME• WE
ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENED NEXT•
.•THE COMMISSIONER OF THE DEPARTMENT OF
HUMAN SERVICES TRIED TO COVER UP. HE TRIED TO
SAV HE WAS POWERLESS. i WON'T LET HIM COVER
(:P . HE HAD THE POWER AND THE DUTY. I WON'T
LET HIM SHIFT THE BLAME•
.THIS IS WHY ! AM A CRITIC. THIS IS WHY I DEMAND
ACCOUNTABILITY.
.DEMAND THE TRUTH FROM THOSE WHO SEEK
YOUR VOTE IN 1984.
,.BY THE WAY. i PAID FOI~ THIS MESSAGE. HELP ME
LEAD A CRUSADE TO CHASE THE INCOMPETENTS
FROM STATE OVERNMENT.
