Jumping Branch/Nimitz CEOS Holds Meeting
Have you or someone you know
had a drug interaction? Do you
know of any specific drug
interactions? These questions and
more were answered by lesson
leader Pauline Harvey as she taught
"Drug Interactions" at the JB/
Nimitz Senior Citizen Center
recently.
The average older person takes
four or five drugs daily. This
increases their risk, of a drug
interaction by 50%. If they take
eight drugs daily, the risk is almost
100%. Mrs. Harvey explained how
drugs travel through the body, risk
factors for interaction, and a partial
list of prescription and over the
counter drugs that increase or
decrease blood levels of other drugs.
