Letter to Letter to O 1 1/4 l t I1 Queen of America Response Dear Editor: Astounding u € t l o 0. The writer has been very fortunate, while traveling on business inside and outside of our country to have visited shrines that have evolved atcer her appearances in individuals (visionaries). One shrine comes to mind that any one living in the Hinton area if they visited a small city in southern France at the foot hills of the Pyranese they would blink, believing they were in Hinton, W. V. The Mother of God Mary who is known by many names, "Queen of Heaven, Queen Of The Universe, Mother of God, Lady of the Cross, Our Lady Of Fatima, Our Lady Of Guadalupe, to name a few. Presently she appears with Jesus her Son in the middle of Bosnia, in a small community called Medjugoria. She appears to people of all faiths recently to a Baptist house wife a husband in Covers, Georgia. The most famous and visited shrine is right here in the America, where the Indians, Mexicans crawl to the shrine Good Friday and Saturday. Right here in the U.S.A. bus loads of pilgrims visit Mother of God (eastern rite) Conyers, Georgia. Our Lady of the cross, Illinois and Queen of America, Ohio. The writer has witnessed the pilgrims coming from all over what a profound effect it has 'had on the communities, as witnessed by the writer, a book has been written on the Illinois shrine Our Lady of the cross; Queen of Heaven from Totally Yours Publishing P. O. Box 897 Hillside, Illinois 60162. Have access to the internet w w w.. c o ny e r s. o r g, www.apparitions.org and scroll down to the U.S.A. sites fascinating what some of the visionaries have to say it is hard to disclaim. In the 19th. century there were about 396 claimed apparitions of these about 100 were disclaimed by authorities but that still leaves nearly 300 unaccounted for. The ones that have been approved about 50 the visionaries accounts are compelling. Just Maybe if we pray here in the mountain state of all faiths, Our Mother might come and Visit the mountain state and Jesus would be close behind. What a profound effect it would have on our community and the mountain state. Just maybe 911 would never happen again, to America. Let us all join in prayer and beg her and her son Jesus to visit us and have the Holy Spirit protect us after all she wants to be called Queen of America. Don't stop praying and also ask for peace, any thing is possible with the Lord. He loves the Prayer "Holy God, Eternal God, Immortal God, have mercy on us." Think about this. Your comments appreciated. If she appears we would know it. Sincerely yours, Charles A. Maxant Hinton Ritz Theatre NOTICE BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS Summers County - The 4th. Dear Editor, It is wonderful to see the excitement over our article in the =church section" entitled "The Truth Shall MakeYou Free." The response in letters, phone calls, etc. has been astounding. I want to praise Rickey Smith for his desire to publicly proclaim that which he believes to be true. It is not often in our day that someone is willing to publicly state that which he believes to be the truth of God's word. This being said, I would like to encourage Rickey, any preachers, or others who would desire to commit to such, to get with me, Fred Seavers - 466-9169 after 8:00 p.m. any night, to set up a time for public discussion of this important issueof, Pnat must I do to be saved?" Maybe we could use the Memorial Building, or some other large meeting place for a public discussion of this topic. This way, those in the Hinton area interested in becoming Christians, or even those wanting to make sure they have done what God has said as opposed to what man has said, can have opportunity to ask questions in a kind and controlled atmosphere. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could do such, and have a great turn out. That would truly say a great deal about the spiritual desires of the Hinton people. We could then discuss such passages as Mark 16:16, which not only tells one how to be lost, "He that believeth not shall be damned," but , also tells the lost (who by the way remain lost until saved) what to do to be saved, "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved." In a short answer to Rickey's statement about this passage, the last part of this verse in no way cancels out the first. If I understand correctly, one who believes can be lost if he does not repent N Acts 17:30; one who believes can be lost if he does not confess -- Romans 10:9-10; and according to the words, "and is baptized," one who believes but is not baptized cannot be saved -- Mark 16:16. The offer will continue to stand. I would love to publicly discuss this with someone such as Rickey, or any other who is not afraid to speak out on that which he believes to be right. Thank you, Fred Seavers Hinton Nothing so needs reforming as other people's habits. --Mark Twain COUNTY COMMISSION MEETING The Summers County Commission will meet bi-weekly on Mondays at 9:00 a.m. in the County Courthouse.
