taxicab service.
PROCEDURAL ORDER
On December 5, 2002, Jones Taxi Service, LLC
(Applicant), Lewisburg, Greenbrier County, filed an
application for a certificate -- to operate as a common
carrier by motor vehicle in the transportation of
passengers in taxicab service between points and
places in Nicholas, Pocahontas nd Summers
Counties, on the one hand, and points and places in
West Virginia on the other hand.
Rates:
Regular Taxicab Service: $2.00 for the first 0.5
mile, .15 for each 0.1 mile thereafter, .50 for each
additional passenger over two in the same party, .30
per minute for waiting time.
Specialized multipassenger van service to and
from physicians' offices, hospitals and other health-
care facilities:
Ca) Rate Structure A: $20.00 per passenger, per
trip, plus 0.75 per mile, after the first thirty (30) miles.
(b) Rate Structure B: $1.25 per loaded mile.
Prior to commencing the trip, the carrier shall
inform each passenger (or third-party payor) whether
Rate structure A or Rate Structure B will apply to that
particular passenger.
' On December 9, 2002, Thornton Cooper, Esquire,
Deputy Director, Transportation Division, filed a
letter recommending certificate language and rates as
set forth above with a recommendation that the notice
should be published in Nicholas, Pocahontas and
Summers counties.
