She is the daughter of Lt. and Mrs. Tim- othy R. Gilbert of Annapolis, Md. and the granddaughter of mrs. Ruth Nevin of Glen Bur- nie, Md. and the late Mr. Nevin and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gilbert of Hinton. Birthday Ted Mansfield, of Nimitz, celebrated his birthday Febru- ary 12. Feb. 13, 1979 Editor Hinton News Hinton, W. Va. 25951 Dear Sir; It's a known fact that the leader of tht Council On Aging is opposed to getting the Y.M.C.A. Building for the Sen- iors Citizens and Nutrition Pro- gram. Why? No one can figure that out. Who's side is he on? Who makes the little officer job he holds possible? The majority of the Senior Citizens wants the building. Should the minority be allowed to decide such an important issue? Why do I bother to come to the Senior Citizens Center which has its fire hazards (One be- ing the heavy, metal door swinging inward), the over- crowded evident conditions and very limited parking space:? (As if its anyone Discs bus- iness.( Simply because its the only place to come until Senior Cit- llinton Jaycee-ettes look on as Hinton's Mayor, William J. Humphreys sign the proclamation proclaiming U.S. Jaycee- ette Week, February II, 1979 thru February 17, 1979 in Hinton. From left to right: Pat Meador, Laura Richmond, Chairman of Jaycee-ette Week. Linda Lytle, President and Debbie Clark. William J. Humphreys, center. izens CAN and WILL better themselves with the help of federal government. Another reason is because one person would be "thrilled to death" to get me out of the way. I seem to make some uncom- fortable. Wonder Why? It would take a "dumbie" not to know. I delight in pleasing the Senior Citizens. Again, as usual, one oqer- stepped their authority by using the following names to a letter written Feb. 13, 1979 to the Hinton News; Faye Gwinn, Des- sie Cox, Russel Honaker, Teva Meadows, Robert Gwinn, Arth- ella Smith, Mildred Lindsay, Edna Price, Sister Sandra Per- aldo, Wayne Chambers, Nell Miller; B.W. Crane, Beverly Carter, Steve Trail and Eliz- abeth Bare. Each of the above named said they had not given permission for their names to be used nor had they been asked. Other names used with the letter could not be reached for confirmat- ion. Any favor or good deed I might do to make another day a little lighter or brighter is not for praise, show or tell, I follow my heart• God and I know. I have "no boss" telling me what I should or should not do and consider it no one DisCS bus- iness what I do with my spare time. (Thank You) Telling It Like It Is, Mrs. J.H. Akers P.S.
