Blessings of the Animals On Saturday, Oct. 6 at 4 p.m. next to the shelter in Bellepoint Park there will be a Blessing of the Animals. All animals and all people are invited to participate in this free event, sponsored by Just Christians. Just Christians is an organization made up of many of the churches in Summers County working together. There will be a short service to remember God's creation, to honor our kinship with all life and to ask a special blessing on any dogs, cats, horses and other animals that come. - The blessings is celebrated in remembrance of St. Francis Assisi, who was so close to the animals that t Key would do what he asked. Besides the service, there will be music, prizes, drinks, information and children's activities. The event is free to all.
