July 31, 2012 LEGAL NOTICE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION OF WEST VIRGINIA CHARLESTON CASE NO. 12-0014-E-PC APPALACHIAN POWER COMPANY and WHEELING POWER COMPANY, dba AMERICAN ELECTRIC POWER Petition for consent and approval of proposed minimum and optimal Reliability Index Targets in compliance with Rule 5.8.b. of the Commission Rules for the Government of Electric Utilities, 150 C.S.R. 3. NOTICE OF FILING AND NOTICE OF HEARING Appalachian Power Company and Wheeling Power dba American Electric Power has filed a petition for consent and approval of electric utility Reliability Index Targets with the Public Service Commission as required by Rule 5.8.b. of the Commission Rules for the Government of Electric Utilities, 150 C.S.R. 3 (Electric Rules). Commission Staff has recommended that the Commission adopt a statowide methodology for the establishment of electric ttility Reliability Index Targets. The Commission will hold a hearing on the utility- proposed Reliability Index Targets and the Staff recommended statowide methodology. This case is one of seven separate proceedings pending before the Commission that were filed by the different&apos; electric utilities operating in West Virginia. In the interest of admlnistrative effciency and to avoid holding seven separate hearings on the similar issues presented in the seven cases, the Commission will hold a single hearing in all of the Reliability Index Target cases The hearing will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday, September 18, 2012, in the Howard M. Cunningham Hearing Room, Commission Offices, 201 Brooks St. Charleston, West Virginia. Interested persons may appear at the hearing to make public comment. Persons wishing to participate as a-party to this proceeding may file petitions to intervene on or before, Wednesday, August 8, 2012, unless the deadline is modified by Commission order.
