May 16, 2017 LEGAL NOTICE Amendment To Ordinance Summers County Fire Service Fee An ordinance amending and reenacting Section I: Applicability, and Section 2: Amount Levied, of the, Summers County Fire Ordinance Fire Service Fee, as adopted by the County Commission of Summers County on or about March 9, 2016, establishing an amended applicability to owners assessed based on property size, and the amounts lee.led upon said owners of properties assessed, and reacting the ordinance as amended. The provision of Section 1: Applicability is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 1: Applicability This Ordinance shall apply to all owners of residential buildings, residential rental buildings, commercial buildings, institutional buildings and vacant property parcels ten (10) acres or greater in which the residential buildings, commercial buildings, institutional buildings, and vacant property parcels ten (10) acres or greater are located in the areas and zones served by the following volunteer fire departments: Forest Hill Volunteer Fire Department, Talcett Volunteer Fire Department, Green Sulphur District Volunteer Fire Department, Jumping Branch Nimitz Volunteer Fire Department, Pipastam Volunteer Fire Department, and Summers County Volunteer Fire Department, the geographic areas of which are defined as all of Summers County excluding the area within the corporate limits of the City of Hinten. Owners of record as of the first of January of each year will be responsible for any amount levied per the ordinance. HN May 16 Notice COMMUNITY suPPORT The Hinton Lions Club is asking for the Communities support in helping to provide those who need, eye examinations or eye glasses. The Hinton Lions have been providing assistance for over 18+ years and are asking community organizations and businesses as well as citizens for monetary donations to continue providing help to those in need in our community. As news spreads of the help being provided, requests are now outnumbering the Lions Club's ability to help. Once a request is received, the individual's application is screened to insure that other avenues of assistance are pursued before the Lions Club provides help.
