STEPHANIE L. ADKINS Stephaine "Lynne"Adkins of Hinton, WV entered her heavenly home at the age of 56 on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. Born Sepetember 8, 1960 in Rural Hall, NC she was a daughter to Evelyn Serber and the late Jim Serber. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by an infant daughter Angela and an infant grandson Austin. She attended church atThe Ministry Place in Hinton, WV. Lynne is survived by daughters Billie Jo "BJ" Pettry of Abraham, WV, Emily Serber of Athens, WV and son Caleb Smouse of Bluefield, WV, one grandson Caison Serber of Athens, WV. Sisters Liz and husband Eugene Leyva, Lois and husband Eddie Tilley, brothers Marty and wife Julie Serber, Rodney and wife Debra Serber all of North Carolina, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside servcies were held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 29, 2016 at Lilly-Crews Cemetery in Nimitz, WV, a Memorial Service was held at The Ministry Place in Hinton at 3:00 PM, Pastor Robert Rodes and Ladies Minister Tammy Zimmerman officiating both services. Family received friends at the Ministry Place at 3:00 P.M. LILLY Daisy Naomi Goldie Lilly, 81 passed Monday, January 30, 2017 at 8:40 p.m. following a short illness. Born November 24, 1935 in Summers County, she was the daughter of the late Charette S. and Hezzie Mae Russell Crawford. Naomi had lived most of her life in Summers County and in the last year had partially lived with her daughter Christine in Pipestem. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith, although she enjoyed !all preaching. .- ~ i She wfis preceded in death by her former husband, Joseph Bennet in 2008; brothers, James Alfred Crawford and Leslie Newton Crawford and several aunts and uncles. Survivors include three sons, Overton Joseph Bennett & wife Ruth of Mt. Airy, NC, Richard Scott Bennett of Smithers, WV and Jeffrey Allen Bennett of Beckley, WV; three daughters, Christine Elizabeth Ward & husband Stanley of Pipestem, WV, Norma Juanita Rookstool of Winston-Salem, NC and Joanna Susan Scott of Hinton, WV; one brother, David Crawford & wife Patti of Gap Mills, WV; two sisters, Barbara Adkins & husband Bernard of Atwater, OH and Elaine Wills of Jumping Branch, WV; Naomi also had 22 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, along with a special friend, Judy Odell of Nettle, WZ. Naomi loved flower gardening, sewing, cooking, her cats (Toby and Callie) and collections of birds. She enjoyed old-time gospel singing and joined in at every service. But, most of all, she loved her children and her family with a passion. She had a quick wit and could banter with the best. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2017 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial followed in Lilly- Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends called from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 3 at the funeral home. Family and friends served as pallbearers. Born March 28, 1970, at Bluefield, he was the son of the late Mark A. and Susan Bostic Ratliff. ' Mark was a graduate of Hinton High School, and a former employee of the City of Hinton Fire Department, former employee of Gore's Autobody in Hinton,'formerly employed at Glade Springs and was also a truck driver. Survivors include a sister Tammy Honts of Catlesttsburg, KY, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial services were held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton, WV, with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. SKIDMORE Sarina Danese Skidmore, 44 of 1210 Taylor St. Hinton was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at CAMC General Division in Charleston following a short illness. Born October 18, 1972 in Hinton she was the daughter of the late Mary Elizabeth Skidmore Carter. Sarina was a graduate of Hinton High School and received her medical assistant's license from National Business College. She was a former employee of Summers County A.R.H. Hospital in Hinton and also was a former dispatcher for Summers County 911. Sarina had a big heart and it showed by her working with people in the healthcare field and with animals. She also loved Jesus and her church. She was a member of Bellepoint Baptist Church and was very active in the children's ministry and the children all loved her dearly. She will be missed by all her family. Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandfather, Vern Leon Skidmore and a brother, Lawrence Carter. Survivors include her grandmother, Ina Ruth Skidmore. Her adopted three children, Larry Skidmore, Aseanti Skidmore and Bailey Paul Skidmore. WILLIAMS Loretta Mae Williams, 53, of Hinton, formerly of Beckley passed away January 28, 2017 at Bowers Hospice House following a short battle with cancer. Degree in Pastoral Ministry and a minor in Missions. While at Pensacola, Travis was active in the Truth Alive evangelist program, a traveling ministry bringing Vacation . Bible Schools to churches across the country. He was also program director and counselor for Camp Good News in Westfielcl, Indiana, a camp designed for underprivileged, inner city children and recovering addicts. He was a 2015 graduate of Liberty University with a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies. He was currently enrolled at Capella University, pursuing a masters degree in children's psychology. Travis was a 10 year employee of Presbyterian Children's Home in Wytheville, VA, the past 5 of those years as Program Director. Being a thyroid cancer survivor, Travis reflected in an article published by the Children's Home, "I am constantly humbled, encouraged and strengthened by the love that you have given. Cancer is not a word that I expected to hear concerning my own health, but I must admit that this has been an incredible journey. My faith, family and friends have given me much joy and encouragement along the way and I have learned to recognize and appreciate life's large and small blesaings more and more." Travis was a born again Christian and was a member of Johnston's Chapel Baptist Church in Princeton. Being raised in Cooks Chapel Baptist Church at Pipestem, he was involved in youth services and drove the church van. Travis was known for his beautiful smile and was always striving to better himself and help others.
